In the most beautiful and alive square attached to the Rambla

Pension dated but clean and cozy, located in a fantastic location overlooking the plaza Reial, close to everything. Unpretentious, essential no television and bidet, but clean sheets and towels.
But after all in Barcelona who is in the room....
Owner fantastic, nice and very kind. Great price highly recommended if you want to live in the center of Barcelona.

Excellent location, clean and friendly hotel

Stayed her just after Christmas and would definitely return.
When checking in the lady on reception was very friendly and asked us which view we would like and she got us checked in pretty quick.
The room was very clean, with clean towels. Each morning the public must have been cleaned as you could smell (not too strong) cleaning products. As we were only there for 2 nights, I didn't expect the room to be cleaned or towels to be changed. However, to my surprise they were.
The hotel is in an excellent location with easy access to taxis or pubic transport if needed.
The only negative were the pillows were extremely flat. We had to roll up a jumper or coat to place underneath. I don't know if all the rooms had flat pillows but a small investment to replace would have made it much more comfortable.
Despite this I would definitely return to this hotel.

To be avoided

Bad room, dirty, cobwebs dangling from the ceiling and wallpaper on the wall. Bathroom with mold on the shower curtain, practically no light, no bidet, the stunts to fit.
Cleaning like this: the same insect crushed on the table (by the cleaning lady) remained there two days. Then I took it off.
I'd say one star, not two. For a price that, in proportion to quality, is crazy.

⸻ Great Location, Basic but Comfortable

This is a basic accommodation with an excellent location just off La Rambla. Everything was within walking distance – attractions, restaurants, and bars were all just steps away.
The room was very small and simple, but for a city break, it was all I needed.
The lady at reception was super friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again!

Beautiful Barcelona, Pension Villanueva to avoid

I just got back and couldn't wait to review this shabby accommodation. Room of about 2 meters by 3, dirty, with a wall bed with only one bedside table, covered in wool now in disuse, pierced sheets, no shower mat, no refrigerator, no hairdryer, on the walls a dirty and torn wallpaper, bathroom about 70 cm wide, without bidet; elevator not working from midnight to 6:00 and hot water intermittently. All this for the modest amount of €540 for 4 nights plus €44 tourist tax. The only positive thing was the centrality of the accommodation. Very inadvisable.
