A "Mountjuic" stay
As a loyal IHG member I seek out Intercontinental brand. I was pleased to find one in Barcelona for a leisure trip. It is located away from the main tourist area in a sleepy neighborhood but below the scenic Mountjuic area. It had a humble entrance but once inside it lived up to the iHG standards. Attractive and well appointed spaces with the a "quality" feeling. With a club reservation it's always nicer to check in in an Intercontinental club lounge. a special feeling to start your stay in a nice lounge with available food and beverages. The suite we reserved was enjoyable but the layout was awkward like wasted space but it worked. The roof top had great views and feel of Europe. The spa area especially the pool and saunas were first rate. Breakfast downstairs was the star situated with floor to ceiling windows. Service was attentive and great selection. Overall it is a comfortable place to enjoy Barcelona, well located and great customer service.

Great hotel, Club lounge and staff
We had a great 2 night stay here over the UK early May bank holiday. IHG Diamond Elite so used suite upgrade voucher which worked well with our 16 year old with us, giving us our own bedrooms and shared Jack and Jill style bathroom. The suite was well appointed and had a balcony, although the weather wasn’t great so we didn’t use it. Also, the suite was on the 1st floor so no view, just looking into the street below. For the first time there was no in room welcome drink/food but it’s not necessary due to the lounge offerings.
We have been to many Intercontinentals and this is the most modern, the design is outstanding. The Club lounge is one of the best in terms of drink offerings, with alcohol including Moët champagne available all day. It also has a large breakfast room and great buffet which is closed off when the service ends. Breakfast staff were very professional, À la carte and coffee options are included. See photos for Club information. The lounge just misses having a view/outdoor area. Thanks to Fernando and Guilleme for their excellent attention.
The rooftop area is also lovely, we were able to use the bar but not the pool due to the weather. The location is Ok, we just used Ubers to get around but you do have MNAC, fountain show and Arenas close by.
We used the indoor spa circuit which was a lovely experience, this is chargeable though a discount is given to Diamond.
We have been to many Intercontinentals and this is the most modern, the design is outstanding. Good hotel for Montjuic
A very big spacious and beautiful hotel with some annoyances.
The location is good for Montjuic or for trains to Montserrat from Plaça de la espanya.
However it's far from central city areas like gothic quarter.
Our ac was fine the first night but had an issue the second and the room became very hot at 3am. It resolved by 9am.
The staff is very pleasant but seem to be cycling in and out a lot. Every 20 min you see new members of staff which leads to repeated follow-ups for requests.
Breakfast was very nice and expansive.
Noise level was good the rooms were clean.
If you get breakfast included it's a good value for money.
The location is good for Montjuic or for trains to Montserrat from Plaça de la espanya.

Great value for money.
You would expect a hotel of this quality to be an absolute fortune--thankfully its not and has to be the best value for money in Barcelona.
The place is stunning.
Thev staff are 5 star level across the board and offer an elevated service style which just works so well.
Roof top pool is fantastic as is the restaurant here--one little negative is that they allow smoking here which is not great.
Rooms are beautiful and clean.
All in all 5 stars and a great place to stay.

Great hotel, good location
We stayed here for 3 nights and found the hotel to be absolutely excellent. Perfect for what we wanted. Having visited Barcelona a few times previous, we wanted somewhere out of the hustle and bustle of the city where we could relax and the rooftop terrace area was amazing for it.
Room was upgraded on arrival, even though I dont usually stay with IHG. Staff were accommodating.
Only 2 small gripes with the hotel, there were no water machines to fill up a bottle, which meant you had to go upto the rooftop terrace all the time who would do it for you.
My other gripe comes with the territory of staying in a luxury hotel, so I cant moan too much, but the prices of the rooftop terrace were quite expensive. €10 for a beer, €5 if you wanted water and ice, €8 for a portion of fries. But bar staff were extremely friendly and came round with nuts and smoothies now and again on our stay.
I can’t comment on food as we always ate out, but it looked good. (Shoutout to the Taps, tapas restaurant opposite the hotel. Really good local fresh tapas)
Id absolutely recommend staying here, its a great hotel and Id definitely return
