Good base, no complaints
Booking.com provided a courtesy airport transfer. The hotel happily stored our luggage until check in. Located right on top of a Metro Station.
Excellent location, mid Ramblas. We had room 208 overlooking las Ramblas. Shame the area was under construction but that’s not the hotels fault. No noise could be heard with the balcony doors shut.
Air con was on constantly at a nice temp and we were there during the heat wave.
Minimal interaction with staff but polite and friendly when we did.
I would use this as a base and stay here again.

Stay away it’s a fraud
To make matters worse, we were given a room with three beds, which we did not need, and a connecting door to very noisy neighbours, so between the heat and the noise, getting any rest was extremely difficult.
Before going out for dinner, we specifically told the receptionist that the room was far too hot. He assured us he would check the AC and fix the problem and told us he would be working until midnight. When we returned at around 10:30 pm, he had already left. All he had done was leave a message for the night receptionist saying that the AC was “working fine.”
The night receptionist was honestly one of the rudest and most dismissive hotel staff members I have ever encountered. When I explained that the AC was clearly NOT working and that the room was unbearably hot, his response was that he did not have air conditioning at reception either, so essentially, “What is the problem?”
He showed absolutely no interest in helping us. He did not even bother to stand up while speaking to us. His entire attitude was dismissive and careless — basically, go back to your room, sleep and leave me alone. No apology, no attempt to find a solution, no alternative room, nothing.
After a terrible night with very little sleep, we went down for breakfast hoping the experience might improve. Unfortunately, it did not.
When we arrived, three people were sitting together at a table chatting. Nobody greeted us or explained anything. We later realised that one of them was actually the waiter. He eventually pointed at a table for us to sit at and simply started bringing food without asking us what we wanted or explaining what was included. We were not even offered coffee — we had to ask for it ourselves.
It was very obvious that his priority was getting back to the other table to continue his conversation rather than looking after the guests.
The most disappointing part is the huge difference between what is presented online and the reality of what we experienced. The room was nothing like the photos, the AC did not work, the room smelled of smoke, we barely slept, and the service ranged from indifferent to outright rude.
For a hotel advertised the way this one is on Booking.com, this experience was completely unacceptable and extremely disappointing.

City hotel, correct for short stay
The rooms are clean and the beds are really comfortable.
This hotel wasn't our first choice, but after cancellation due to overbooking our hotel, we accepted this offer instead due to the great location- just in the La Rambla street across the entrance in metro station Liceu.
The breakfast is ok. There is no buffet style. Breakfast is served on a plate . It is continental breakfast with fresh avocado, iberian ham, baguette bread, croissant, butter, jam, juice and coffee.
We also got an interior economy room without a real window. Yes, technically there is a window, but it looks out onto the inner hall of the hotel and there is a skylight on the roof, so you don't get any fresh air. On the contrary, the AC is perfect and the room is perfectly fresh anytime. I saw the other reviews where guests complained about noise, but we haven't heard anything. The inner rooms don't have that problem.
All in all, it is quite ok for a short stay, but please do not book an economy room!
I saw that standard rooms have a small french balcony, but are oriented to the street and probably are loud.
The staff is polite and helpful.
