The Balmes has an enviable location, close enough to the fashionable shopping of 'Passeig De Gracia' and some of the important architectural buildings of Barcelona. Located in a quiet street this peaceful 3 star hotel offers real value for money, a superior 3 star whose standards are constantly maintained. The modern design, with various different types of art exhibitions being displayed through the year in the lobby, gives the hotel a hip feel ! The rooms are comfortable, some benefitting from balconies that overlook the small gardens and outdoor pool area. A little gem at affordable price located in the heart of the city !

Wonderful
I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Balmes in Barcelona. The hotel was spotlessly clean, and my room was cleaned every day with fresh towels provided daily.
The location is excellent, making it very convenient for exploring Barcelona. I also loved the lovely little touch of finding chocolates on my bed — such a thoughtful detail that made my stay even more special.
Everything was absolutely perfect, from the cleanliness and comfort to the wonderful service. The staff were extremely friendly, kind and helpful and always happy to assist.
I truly enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend Hotel Balmes. I would definitely love to come back! ❤️

A beautiful hotel, full of art and everything we needed
We very much appreciate our stay at this hotel. There were many things we loved, but especially:
1) The reception staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They not only helped us with questions related to the hotel, but also with many other inquiries, including questions related to tourism. They even helped us to recover a mobile phone that we had accidentally forgotten in a taxi, something we were very grateful for!
2) I loved the lobby. It looked almost like an art gallery, with beautiful sculptures, an elegant rest area and a beautiful bookshelf. I also loved the detail of having two jugs of water and iced tea available to guests.
3) The overall decor of the hotel was beautiful, with unique artwork and decorative elements throughout the property. All this gave a lot of character to the hotel.
4) The apartment was one of the great highlights of our stay! It was very spacious, with two bedrooms located at opposite ends of the apartment and separated by a living and kitchen area. Each bedroom also had its own bathroom, which was incredibly practical. I loved the combination of modern elements, such as the kitchen and bathrooms, with the most classic and historic character of the apartment, including the beautiful tiled floors with decorative motifs.
5) Location was fantastic, very close to attractions like La Pedrera and Casa Batllo, plus many restaurants.
6) The pool was quite a hit with the kids, and we also really enjoyed having a bar right by the pool.
We had a wonderful experience and would be back to 100%!

First time in Barcelona and my experience
We were on holiday to Barcelona and we stayed four nights at the hotel Balmes, we are from Portugal and we are used to travel and stay in good hotels, and the hotel Balmes surprised me, I liked the location, the reception was very attentive, the room was spacious, clean and organized, the towels were always clean, we stayed four nights and whenever we returned from the tours there were chocolate mimos in the bed for us immediately, and the pool I found small, the laundry was excellent, what bothered us a little was the noise from the room on the top floor that we heard and the cleaners were very close to our door, we also had a little infiltration in the bathroom that was solved for us immediately, and the swimming pool that I found small, this breakfast is complete, and the impeccable care, the hostess of the reception helped us buy the tickets for the tours that we had not achieved before, thanks to the hotel, I recommended your experiences in a certain way.

Worst service ever!
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!
I booked a hotel for my husband and my two kids through an online platform. When I arrive to the hotel they told me that I have booked a room for two I said no specifically put 4 on the reservation, the guy in the front desk was an Argentinian guy, very rude and very mean he didn’t want me to stay and wanted me to pay an extra €200 for a bigger room. I told him that I booked for four and paid for four he wanted me to call the agency to fix the problem, I said no, at this point is not my fault. He was very, very, very rude and gave us a very tiny room for only two people. MY KIDS HAD TO SLEEP
IN THE FLOOR IN BLANKETS. It was the worst service ever…..

We would like to clarify that the reservation confirmation received from the third-party booking agency was for two guests only. As an accommodation provider, we can only act upon the booking details that are transmitted to us. Therefore, the room assigned corresponded to the reservation we received.
Once you informed our reception team that you were travelling with four guests, our staff acted promptly and diligently to find the most suitable solution. As we do have family rooms that can accommodate four guests, we offered to amend the reservation by upgrading to the appropriate room category upon payment of the applicable rate difference. Unfortunately, this solution was not accepted from your side.
We believe the situation arose due to an error in the booking information transmitted by the third-party agency, a process over which the hotel has no control. We therefore respectfully suggest that this matter should also be addressed with the agency through which the reservation was made.
Finally, we would like to address your comments regarding our reception team. We are sorry that you felt this way, as it does not reflect the standards of service we strive to provide. According to our records, our reception team treated the situation with professionalism, courtesy and diligence at all times, making every effort to assist you and offer the most appropriate solution available.
We regret that this misunderstanding affected your stay and thank you for your feedback.
