Would definitely recommend

We stayed at the Dolphin House in February 2026. The customer service provided by Christain (son of the owners), was exceptional. He helped us with booking tours both on San Cristobal, and Isabela island. We had one of the two ocean view rooms on the top floor. Our room was nice with a beautiful balcony/terrace, that is shared with the room next door, which had two hammocks (one for each room) - perfect for watching the sun set. There is filtered water and a shared fridge available to hotel guests. They also provided snorkeling equipment free of charge.

An unwelcoming experience

Our stay was unfortunately affected mainly by the attitude of the couple who own the property.
From the beginning, the payment process was difficult, as both provided accounts were rejected by my bank, and we had to arrange an alternative solution. Communication throughout felt abrupt and, at times, unwelcoming. I'd never had accounts rejected in this way.
The room itself was spacious and looked appealing at first, but several issues reduced the comfort of the stay. The TV was frozen, the internet unreliable, no bedside light, and the air conditioning repeatedly turned on and off with noise from early in the morning. While there was hot water in the shower only, the cold water pressure in the faucet was extremely low—almost just a trickle—making it impractical to use.
Another challenge was the complete lack of basic amenities. There were no utensils available at all—not even a spoon, cup, glass, or knife—and no access to something simple like a coffee setup or shared area to prepare food. When we asked about using a kitchen space (as we were traveling with guests with dietary restrictions), the owners eventually agreed for an additional fee, which we appreciated. However, the experience felt very restrictive and uncomfortable. They had simply told us that we were not allowed to prepare any food in the hotel and to do it out of the hotel. No care or assistance whatsoever.
Overall, while the property has potential, the lack of basic hospitality and the consistently unfriendly manner of the owners made the stay far less enjoyable than it should have been.
With a more welcoming and service-oriented approach, this could be a much better place to stay.

Perfect facilities, location and host

Great location. Quick walk to the malecon and to Playa Mann. The facilities are clean and the rooms are big and the windows open- they also have air conditioning. There is a rooftop area to hang out with great views. There are shops, bars, restaurants a few minutes away (less than five). Cristian is a wonderful host and can help with finding tours and give suggestions of where to eat and what to do. He is always available to help you even before you arrive. Staff is super helpful and always eager to help. There is a refrigerator in the common area to store food or leftovers. It's a perfect place to stay for your visit to this magical place. Will definitely return.

As for San Cristobal Island, there are several excursions to do and good restaurants. There are a lot of taxis

There were ants in the bathroom of our room, the staff and services were average. There was a water machine but the water was never cold. For my part I was a little disappointed because the owner was not too welcoming.

Great views!

We stayed for three nights as part of a ten-day trip to Galapagos.
The hotel's big plus is its great sea views from spacious shared balconies. Our rooms were quite spacious and one also afforded excellent views from patio doors. The room was pleasant, but a little grubby in a few corners, and the air-con intermittently made a really loud banging noise in the night. The shower had good heat and adequate flow.
WiFi was slow, but that's not unusual on Galapagos.
It's a shame they don't serve breakfast, and we felt the large (ex-dining?) seating area with the views was somewhat under-used.
Overall, we felt this was a good choice for our stay in San Cristobal.
