Plaza Mayor, its main neo-baroque style square, is surrounded by imposing colonial buildings. The romantic museum, housed in the restored Brunet Palace, and the Museum of Colonial Architecture exhibit remains dating back to the time of the city's sugar production. The Church of the Holy Trinity, a 19th-century cathedral, has vaulted ceilings and carved altars.

Ideal for family travel!
The rooms are very comfortable, spacious and perfectly clean, something fundamental when traveling with children. The hotel has a family atmosphere, quiet and safe, ideal for lounging and enjoying.

Very bad experience. We do not recommend it.
The receptionist was very friendly, assigned us a nice room on the second floor, even suggested us a restaurant to go to eat.
We left our things in the room and went out to tour the city.
When we got back to the hotel it was dark. Upon entering we were waiting at reception for a girl who indicated that we should change hotels. The whole hotel was in the dark. He told us that with the blackout they had no power and we should go to the La Ronda hotel, the same company and in the same street.
We found it rare that in La Calesa there was no electric power and in La Ronda there was, both hotels being on the same street.
We had to access our room and collect all our belongings in the dark, no one helped us. They didn't even provide us with a flashlight.
The hotel they sent us to, La Ronda, is not comparable to the one we had booked. The room was rather more inhospitable, the furniture rickety, the old bathroom with the tub rusty... In short, a disaster. Still we stayed the two days in that hotel. Two rather awkward days.
On the day of departure, at check-out, we informed reception that we had consumed the 2 bottles of water in the fridge. The receptionist asks us $6 for the two bottles.
He certainly tried to scam us because during those two days we had bought some bottles of water in the hotel bar itself at a price of 120CUP per bottle.
We bought 2 bottles in the hotel bar and replenished them in the room. A terrible lack of professionalism on the part of that receptionist who was the same one who did not help us the night of our arrival to collect things in the dark from La Calesa's room.
Therefore, very bad experience with this company. We paid for a good hotel and were forced to stay in another of inferior quality and, in addition, the behavior of the receptionist very deplorable.
