My parents had a reservation at Piscina Apartments from August 6th to 13th, which they booked through Booking.com. On the day of their arrival, they began receiving phone calls from the property owner requesting that they send their booking confirmation via email.
Although my parents agreed, they chose to blur out the unique booking code typically included in such confirmations for security reasons. However, when their arrived at the property, a staff member took my mother's phone with an excuse that he needs to check something and quickly copied the booking code to his own device.
Shortly afterward, it became clear that their reservation had been canceled using this code, and they were left stranded at the entrance with no accommodation provided.
