Excellent

Exceptional friendly and helpfull owner, really takes time and effort for his guests.
Clean appartement good price good breakfast of your own choise.
Nice quiet place, walking distance to the Plitvice Park.
Parking in front of the house one minute from restaurant on foot.
Excellent.

Unassuming outside but a very nice place

It's very close to the lakes and waterfalls so we could leave our car there and walk down. Dusan, the host, knows everything there is to know about the local area and was very helpful. He cooked us a good breakfast, which was extra but very reasonable, which we well worth it if you plan on walking the lakes. There aren't many other restaurants or shops in the immediate area so if you want anything It's worth stopping at a shop on your way to the house. All in all a very nice stay, thank you. Well recommended.

Exceeds Expectations

We had reservations for three rooms at the House by the River. Unexpectedly, the bridge accessing the hotel was under closed and under construction. Ducan and his brother did everything they could to help us arrive at our destination and then made our stay perfect. Although the exterior of the house is unassuming, the rooms within have been renovated and were lovely. Ducan and his brother prepared an excellent breakfast for us and did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. We had a wonderful stay at the House by the River and highly recommend it.

Amazing *****

Amazing amazing amazing ,
When taking a taxi from the bus station we thought we had messed up as it was long drive into the mountains , how wrong we were !!
We shortly realised we are in the heart of the national park just a few minute walk from the best views in the whole country, this hidden gem was everything we could of wanted ,
The warm welcome from the nicest 2 brothers who’s english was fantastic and knowledge of the park was priceless,
The rooms are large and spacious with Netflix on tv etc
The breakfast was outstanding as they have there own chickens so fresh eggs is in understatement,
The helpful guys would daily go to the supermarket for us for drinks and snacks to save us money in the parks and beers for later while we went through the rake of unbelievable photos we had got from the advice we had received the day before,
There are 2 excellent restaurants on the door step
The lodge and Ethno house
Both fantastic for very different reasons
Transfers were available for a third of the price of taxis
I can’t recommend this place any more if you like traditional, rustic and memorable and to feel like part of the local community for a few days

Amazing hosts! Its a very nice location, nice place to stay > every thing was perfect. Thanks again for your hospitality.
Its clean and tidy, we had a really great time.
I recommend this place to everyone ;)
