Two Thumbs UP for an authentic and memorable Costa Rica stay

We stayed at Hotel Mango Valley in Grecia for a total of 8 nights - and every day there was wonderful! This was a five-star experience for us, across the board. The hotel's location in the hills above Grecia provided an array of spectacular views and vistas, made all the more stunning by the beautiful pool, lawn/lounge area, and gardens/pathways located on the hotel grounds. New owners from Canada took over management of the hotel a few months ago and the grandfather/grandson team of John and Jeff provided friendly, responsive, thoughtful service. The new owners are making key upgrades throughout the property and at the same time providing an excellent experience for their guests. You get a delicious breakfast every morning including coffee (Costa Rican - the best), juice, eggs, rice/beans, an amazing selection of fresh cut fruits, toast, and homemade jams (I strongly recommend the pineapple jam). This is an authentic Costa Rican mountains experience - very different from the American style (Marriot, Hilton etc) mega-resorts you will likely encounter on the Pacific Coast. So although it may not be the luxury style that these sorts of venues provide, staying at the Mango Valley Hotel is a memorable experience in a gorgeous natural setting with SUPER CLEAN and comfortable casitas and a location that allows you to explore so many wonderful parts of the country including volcanoes, cloud forest, zip lining, coffee farms/tours, farmers' markets, an on and on...all at an EXTREMELY reasonable price. If you are looking for a memorable, exhilarating, relaxing and authentic Costa Rican vacation experience -- THIS IS IT!

Wonderful stay- very peaceful, clean, and responsive to any requests. Small little cabin with a beautiful view.

Breakfast was great! Hospitality was absolutely top notch. The pool is very clean, the water is colder than expected. Having no A/C is a change, but the area is not as warm as la fortuna. Great place in the middle of everything.

Very nice place

Arriving we learn that the place is just bought by the Canadians, what a nice surprise
The place is really warm. We stayed in house number 2 Collibrie. Large bedroom with large bathroom and kitchenette.
There is also a pool, it was cold in January but my buddy jumped once
The breakfast was delicious. Local products.
We really enjoyed our stay.

Such a cool place off the beaten path. Annie took great care of us. Would recommend for sure. Hopefully we will be back.
