Atypical and pleasant

This ECO lodge "complex" is located close to Tenorio Volcano National Park and the celestial Rio. All rooms are contemporary in style, all in a green space where flora and fauna complete the picture. A private trail of 2 km in virgin rainforest in front of the lodge , on the right exiting the lodge , cross the road at 150 meters. The restoration offered in these places is also worth a visit , for its originality and flavors.

Truly a gem in this day and age. Perfectly located with amazing views. The common spaces are completely organic and gorgeous at the same time. Well done!

This is a wonderful location near the national park. If you are wanting to hike the waterfall trail in the national park, it is only about a 5-10 minute drive from this hotel.
The hotel is unique in its design and location. It is nestled into the natural surroundings, and the grounds are lovely. There is a further hike across the road on some grounds owned by the hotel, and it is a nice little introduction to the rainforest. There are multiple bird species in the garden.
The hotel has wide floor-to-ceiling windows that look out over the valley, and you can birdwatch from the main dining area.
The food here is excellent as well. There is homemade bread with fruit/eggs/porridge in the mornings. The coffee is also plentiful and good.
Some may find that these rooms need "updating" to modern decor, and that may be true. But, I found the rooms to be clean and well-maintained. The aesthetic of this hotel is unique, and I appreciate this more than any standard boring aesthetic from contemporary hotels that all look the same. The owner has clearly put thought into the decor, and it reflects the unique personality of this hotel.
I would definitely stay here again. This are remains relatively undeveloped, and it is a good getaway from more touristy areas of Costa Rica.

Hated it

total ripoff for the price—beds hard as a wooden board, no AC or fan, so many bugs in the room (could at least have nets), just off loud road but windows must stay open at night for air, the door doesn’t close solidly so it rattled at odd times all night when the wind blew through till we wedged something in it, crappy shower for the price point, linens that look and feel like they’re from the 1950s…. I’ve slept more comfortably at a Motel 6 (super cheap economy motel, well under $100/night). By far the most expensive and least nice place we’ve stayed all week. I don’t see why people have given this place any positive reviews—aside from the pretty grounds, it is a total ripoff. The owner was quite rude to us when we tried to cancel early because we were so uncomfortable that we barely slept.

Wonderful Place To Stay!

Celeste Mountain Lodge is a fantastic hotel. We traveled with five adults for two nights, staying in two rooms. The rooms were comfortable, clean and private, with interesting designs and comfortable beds. The grounds were beautiful and well cared for. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was incredible! It was fresh, interesting and delicious. We had two breakfasts and two dinners and a round of cocktails. We also visited a local brewery, less than a mile away, for a great lunch. And we appreciated the hotel's recommended tours. We did the guided night tour through the rainforest, the guided tour in the National Park, and the tree chocolate tour. We loved them all. We highly recommend this place to stay!
