Amazing appartment but no atmosphere

We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment at Olympic Residence and came away with mixed feelings.
The apartment itself was absolutely fantastic. It was huge, with more than enough space for a family, and felt very luxurious. On arrival, we found the table beautifully set with fresh fruit and a bottle of wine, which was a lovely touch. The views were incredible, and I genuinely don't think I've ever stayed anywhere that was so spotlessly clean. The pool was also much larger than it appears in the photos, which was a pleasant surprise.
However, while the accommodation was excellent, the overall atmosphere left a lot to be desired. During our stay, there was virtually nobody around the pool, no music, and the bar was closed. As a family with teenagers, it felt rather soulless and lacked the holiday atmosphere we were hoping for. The pool area was also quite exposed to the wind, making it too cold for us to swim, although our children were braver than we were!
We chose Olympic Residence partly because it appeared to be closer to the centre of Limassol. While it is nearer than some resorts, it was still a fairly long walk and not a particularly scenic one. We also found the old town itself quite small and somewhat underwhelming.
In summary, if you're looking for a spacious, immaculate apartment with stunning views, Olympic Residence is hard to fault. The accommodation deserves top marks. However, as a holiday base, particularly for families looking for atmosphere, entertainment or a lively pool scene, it wasn't quite what we were hoping for.

Appartments were very spacious and spotless
Very well equipped and nice view
However it was quite a walk to the old town and we missed a holiday vibe there
Pool was fairly big but no one around despite it being half term and bar seemed shut
So a good base but not for a family holiday

Its not my first time in Olympic and everytime i have issues with the wifi and connectivity in general
This time i had no Wifi and not even food 4G signal

Everyday cleaning as if in a hotel! That helps a lot if you are cooking etc. great Frontdesk. Great pool. Private bridge to the beach!

We stayed for 10 days in July. The location is excellent in terms of proximity to a fantastic beach. This can be even easier given the bridge across the busy road, though we couldn't use it due to having a stroller. There are also too many good restaurants to count, grocery options, and its a quick 10 minute bus ride to the marina and old city. The pools were very nice and there is both a splah pool and little playground suitable for under 5s. However it seems the facilities are not up to what they used to be. The formerly leading restaurant downstairs is closed with no clear reopening date. And the pool bar service is no nothing more than placing an order with the staff and then they literally order from Wolt, mostly from the Ship Inn across the street. Also, we were overcharged for beers by 40% and were told "that's the new prices." I had to show 3 different menus which all had the "old" prices. So that left a sour taste to be honest. The apartment itself was very clean and well-appointed with towels and such. However the kitchen supplies were very slim and there is no equipment for proper cooking, so bear that in mind. Finally, while the balconies offer fantastic views, its hard to sit outside in the evening because of all the cars and motorcylcles revving their engines and accelarating aggressively can make it hard to have a normal conversation. Finally, the service was very good and the reception team did a great job arranging transporation and such. We had an issue with the plug in the bath tub and it was dealt with swiftly. So a very nice stay but it feels like the best days could be behind it if the onsite dining facilities aren't sorted out.
