"Recently Renovated"? A Generous Claim for a Time Capsule.
We take strong exception to the hotel’s website describing The Saskatoon Inn and Conference Centre as a “recently renovated, 257-room full-service hotel.” While the interior lobby shows signs of a modern face-lift, the rest of the property is firmly stuck in the past.
Exterior & First Impressions: Neglected and Outdated Our first impressions upon driving onto the property were poor. A large portion of the available parking—including areas immediately adjacent to the hotel—is gravel. The asphalt surfaces that are paved have been severely neglected, featuring broken asphalt, large potholes, and faded parking lane paint. Weeds and neglected landscaping dominate the curbed median strips.
The main entry under the covered portico (porte-cochère) is in serious need of structural maintenance, including loose overhead panels. Beneath it, what might have once been an upscale automobile reception area has concrete-based pavers that have deteriorated to the extent that they pose a genuine tripping hazard for guests.
The Lobby: A Brief Bright Spot Admittedly, once inside the main reception area, we noted some attention to upgraded details. The check-in stations, the business center, and the seating areas devoted to rest and relaxation were fresh, modern, and quite acceptable.
The King Suite: Superficial Updates & Obsolete Tech Unfortunately, the illusion faded once we reached our assigned "King Suite."
• The Bathroom: The restroom had indeed been renovated at some point, but certainly not recently. While the shower enclosure, countertop, and sink were not the 30-to-40-year-old originals, they are showing their age. We noted numerous stains along the edges of the shower enclosure that looked suspiciously like black mold, and similar black stains around the sink drain. Furthermore, the sink’s drain mechanism failed to hold water.
• Lighting: Several light fixtures appeared updated, but they were outfitted with spiral compact fluorescent bulbs (CFLs) that are nearing obsolescence. The suite was quite dark, relying on just one table lamp, one pole lamp, and two ceiling fixtures.
• Amenities: No drinking glasses were provided—only two coffee mugs. While coffee was supplied, the "Mother Parkers" packets were tea-bag-style pods that were entirely incompatible with the drip-style coffee maker in our room.
• Climate Control: The "recently renovated" label definitely bypassed the HVAC. While the A/C worked okay, adjusting it was a challenge. Our two-room suite had two separate Barber-Colman thermostats dating from somewhere between 1987 and 1999. To make matters worse, directions to adjust the cooling fans were handwritten in black permanent marker directly on the face of the wall switches.
• The "Private" Balcony: The website touts a "Private Balcony" for King Suite patrons. It is far from private. It is a shared, continuous second-floor walkway situated outside the rooms without any room-by-room dividers, meaning every patron on the floor has access to the entire length of it.
Bottom Line: If you are booking based on the promise of a modern, recently overhauled experience, you will likely be disappointed. There is a massive disconnect between the hotel's marketing and the reality of the deferred maintenance on the grounds and in the rooms.

Would still be a hotel I would recommend if you wanted group pictures.
Breakfast was horrible late and expensive
they had a buffet that might have been good but there wasn't a discount even if you were staying in the hotel for it And it was stupidly expensive ordered off the menu The staff told me that they were so busy and that's why breakfast was late. Meanwhile, over half of the tables were empty.
Room service was good fairly quick + Had a fair price.
