About 15 minutes from downtown Stratford and the Stratford Festival sites, this no frills but well kept hotel is a nice, low cost alternative for those attending the Festival. Our room was clean and comfortable with decent space. Being an older building without significant updates, there were no USB ports and my side of our king-sized bed had no electric outlets at all. Doors still use actual keys instead of a card system, and there’s no elevator to the second floor, which my aging knees could have used. But if you’re looking for a clean, quiet, comfortable place to just sleep and plop your stuff while you explore the Festival just down the road, the Shakespeare Inn might be your place.

2 night stay in Aug. 2026.

Check in was fine. Lots of close, available, parking with easy access off the highway. We found the room quality far below the rate charged through a major booking service. (Name withheld) Would not book through this service agency again. The room was very small. About a 1 foot space between the 2 beds. The bed frames were caked in dust. There was only an office chair for seating. Very plain furnishings. One of the beds was found to be very hard. The freezer in the fridge had a full plastic bag of ice jammed into it. Finally dislodged it. Fridge, obviously not checked by cleaning staff. The internet was good. The lighting was poor. The tv had 4-5 channels available. No major networks available. There was only a sink, with no counter space for toiletries. Former guests' hair found in the bathroom. The towels provided were very small. Drying with them, they felt like course sandpaper. They were also yellowish, instead of white. (Some bleach needed?) I would not recommend this site, and, would not stay here again.

Location is perfect, close to New Hamburg for Moparfest and close to Stratford for meals and drinks. Very friendly staff

The room was fine, although I did find a long black hair in the bathtub. Coffee available in the lobby, but the only snack/breakfast item was cookies.

The inn is definitely dated. But the room was amazingly clean. The coffee bar and cookies hit the spot. The bed linens could probably be updated. But all in all we needed a place to sleep and it was very affordable and suited our budget for the weekend we had in Stratford. Definitely will use that place again
