The private room was small but functional. Creeky door should be fixed though. Pankakes for breakfast were great!

Don't say I didn't warn you.
This hostel is dramatically overpriced considering what it offers. It is old and rickety. There’s a faint general constant stink mostly upstairs where the rooms are. This place is NOISY ! The yahoos that stay here keep slamming doors day and night for some reason. The doors are not self-closing so who knows why that’s a thing. You’ll hear every conversation in your room, people plugging and unplugging things from the electrical sockets, the brats about the place screaming, the parking lot outside.
It’s a 2 star so don’t expect any service. There’s no elevator and you’re handed your towel and keys at the lobby so you’ll have to carry that plus your bags up narrow stairs.
The shared showers are actually not bad but of course there is some mold since there’s no exhaust fan. There is ONE shared toilet and if someone takes a shower here, they flood the whole bathroom.
If you want to take a shower you'll have to take your room keys with you (if you plan to lock your bedroom door).
If you use the shared kitchen, keep in mind you’ll be expected to wash your own dishes.
The worst part is that I paid 200$ for one night in this dump and then moved right next door to the Manoir Sherbrooke where I paid 199$ per night for a private bedroom and bathroom (with a tub). The Manoir is an absolutely stunning place (and as they told me it was built in 1850 !). The Auberge du Plateau is completely delusional to be charging the same as an actual quality hotel.

Really good find
Really good value. we had the room 303 which is up 2 flights of curved staircases but not a problem really quiet at night, dark curtains that don’t let the light in so slept really well me and my son the bathroom that this room serves is only available to the 3 room adjacent to the Bathroom which is really handy
The room was very clean with plenty of pillows,sheets & towels
Breakfast is pretty good Cereal,Toast,pancakes,boiled eggs,Yogurt
Apple juice or you can bring in whatever you want
there is also Free Food that previous guests have left, which you are can help yourself to
You can also cook your own meals in the evening if you wish
People are really friendly and welcoming

The look of the dorms is terrible. They need major improvements since decades but nothing changed. Mattress are very poor quality, slacked linen fleeping from the mattress, no appropriate large enough lockers in the dorms, no sound proof, no privacy curtains for every beds in the dorms despite several requests for that, but unfortunately, the manager prefer to keep this as it is... ! The only thing saving that hostel is the breakfast.
