Amazing getaway
Third time at Milcroft Inn and Spa. Warm and friendly vibes. The staff are all amazing. It's very relaxing. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Restaurant is gourmet . Best steak I've ever had. We will be back.

Absolutely not restful
Restful? There was construction outside our unit, drilling concrete, workers yelling all day...equipment blocking our path...the Croft unit we stayed in had cracks and chipped pain allover the very dated decor. It was unbearably hot on the bathroom heated floor so we asked for help. It was like a hot beach under the Carribean sun...I couldn't stand on it long enough to brush my teeth...They told my husband to get under the sink to turn off the source himself...he got on the floor to try but ended up having to call again. The pools were covered in floating debris...the spa change rooms are cramped and wet...wow this place really needs a lot of work and is absolutely not restful or a place to unwind. The bridge was suddenly closed on our last day as we were driving towards it. There was no warning about any of the construction by the way. This place needs a serious overhaul and manager.

Disappointing
My husband and I have often visited Millcroft in the past number of years. Five years ago we celebrated our 50th anniversary at the hotel. The room, the service, the food were worthy of a 5 star rating. We had a wonderful time. Their hospitality was outstanding. The weekend of June 26-29 2026 we booked again for our 55th anniversary. Unfortunately the experience was disappointing to say the least.
When I called to reserve, I asked for an accessible toilet, and I was promised there would be the support my husband needed. Eventually someone went out to buy one and it was installed by evening. One corner in the room had a plaster job that was sloppy and not painted. In the morning there were empty wine glasses etc sitting on a table by the elevator. When we entered the dining room the hostess was less than hospitable, no smile, no welcome. The menu was also a disappointment. The choices were limited especially if one is not fond of eggs. In the past I had often taken photos of the food. The presentation was lacking. i ordered fruit and yogurt and pastries. While the fruit bowl was very tasty the yogurt was in a plastic container that one can buy at the grocery store. Something I would expect at a Holiday Inn -- not at 5 star hotel. I reached out via email to managers and the chef explaining my disappointment -- twice! I got no response from any of the 3 people I contacted. Even though there was complimentary champagne and chocolate and a rose on our bed each evening, it did not make up for the amount of money we spent. We will not visit Millcroft again.

Needs some TLC
A lovely location. Amazing staff, some of the nicest people to encounter. But this property needs some TLC! I expect better from a property of this type. Paint peeling, signs outdated, a gym that looks like it s pieced together from equipment taken from local garage sales...feels like someone at the top is not spending the money on upkeep. We stayed for two nights in one of the croft cottages. Nice room, but again needs TLC and updating which is a theme throughout the property. Feels like they are not reinvesting their money into the inn. Expected more for an 'elegant vintage spa'. Not the fault of the friendly staff though!

Stay Away - waste of money
This property is an absolute disaster and nowhere near worth the price they charge. From the moment you arrive, there is no sense of hospitality or welcome whatsoever. The staff rarely smile, appear inconvenienced by guests, and the entire experience feels more like being in a prison with endless rules than staying at a resort.
The condition of the property is shocking for a hotel that considers itself four-star. It feels more like a tired Holiday Inn from the 1980s that has been neglected for years. Cleanliness and upkeep are clearly not priorities. Room service trays and dirty dishes are left sitting in the hallways all day, creating an unpleasant and unprofessional atmosphere.
The pool and spa areas are equally disappointing, with furniture scattered everywhere, no staff in sight to tidy or maintain the area, and overgrown weeds and grass throughout the property. The entire resort feels run-down, poorly managed, and lacking any attention to detail.
For the amount of money charged, this place is simply unacceptable. There are far better options available that actually understand hospitality, cleanliness, and guest service.
