Wonderfull

What a wonderfull place. Perfect vieuw over Rio, especcialy sugar loaf mountain. Friendly people. Safe space in a safe favela. Highly recomend this! Clean rooms with terrace. Sometimes at night difficult to find a taxi but nothing to worry about.

Very unique and nice experience

The place is located in a favela, which is a very authentic experience. It's safe, of course. You have to walk a bit, but the reward will be an amazing view of Rio de Janeiro (You'll love it!). The place is clean, the people who work there are nice and helpful, so I can't complain at all. I would definitely stay again.

Beautiful view lovely community

Family run hostel the family is so welcoming and helpful i stayed with my two children they made friends with the kids!
The Views are amazing
The hostel is very clean
You can use the kitchen to cook also.
5 to 10 minutes walk out of the favela to the main road where you can get a taxi

A very unique experience

The guy who works there was kind enough to meet me at the top of hill and helped me with my bag and walked me through the daunting favela. The accommodations are basic but that’s not what you’re there for. You’re there for the view, simple as that. It’s absolutely incredible. The experience of staying in a favela in a relatively safe circumstance is not one you’ll come across too often with out knowing anyone. I wasn’t able to get food so late but I was able to get some booze and water. That certainly enhanced the view and experience. Now on the way out your on your own and that could be very intimidating. The people weren’t pleased to see me there and despite being totally vulnerable with all my gear I didn’t have any issues.

Wonderful, Home from Home <3

Amazing gem of a place. great stay, great breakfast, beautiful family. Really lovely location, so much beauty in the surrounding areas of santa teresa and lapa. The family are so helpful and make you feel immediately welcome, always good vibes and meeting great people.
