Great B&B! Highly recommended!

Bloemenweelde is an excellent B&B address to stay overnight when visiting Kortrijk and the surrounding area. The host and hostess are warm and will provide you with a great breakfast and tips for seeing the city. Our room was spacious with a great bed. Slept wonderfully! Shower and toilet are located in a small room, but are adequate. In short: a great place to stay!

Not customer friendly

Customer friendliness far from being achieved – agreements are not kept
We accidentally booked the wrong date via Booking.com. Unfortunately, we had chosen a booking without the possibility of cancellation. That is our own fault and we simply take responsibility for it.
No less than six weeks in advance we contacted the property to indicate that we would not be using the room. Because there was still ample time to re-let the room, we asked if any leniency was possible. Our proposal: 50% of the paid overnight costs returned. The owner could then relist the room and possibly still rent it out.
After no less than seven emails, a response finally came: the owner promised to refund €50. Not what we had proposed, but fine — deal is deal.
Only, sir, he's not keeping that agreement either.
We have asked and reminded several times about the promised refund. No more money and no more reaction.
We understand that a non-cancellable booking does not legally have to be refunded. But if you then promise to pay back €50 yourself, just keep that promise. And if something's wrong: communicate.
Customer friendly? Absolutely not.
Normal communication possible? Apparently not.
Keep a promise you made? You're not.
An error in booking was ours. The way in which this is dealt with and the failure to meet a commitment is the owner's. Very bad thing.

Top in terms of price-quality. Very friendly and attentive host and hostess.

Very friendly service and top breakfast. Very friendly host and hostess who make every effort to please their guests. The room is spacious and has everything you need, including care products. Breakfast with fresh eggs if desired and a wide choice of toppings. Coffee, tea and fruit juice available

Reservation is canceled 3 months later by B&B, how unprofessional

In August 2023 I booked a B&B for August 2024, in November 2023 (3 months later) I received a phone call from B&B that the reservation was canceled due to the owners being on leave themselves. Everything had already been paid via booking.com. Ask him to refund my money and he says that I should arrange this with booking.com. Trying to get in touch with booking.com is not a simple task, just send an email to them, but in the end I succeeded. I received an email back that the B&B had to propose me alternative accommodation, which I immediately refused and insisted again on my request. money back, which ultimately succeeded without having to pay cancellation costs because B&B canceled itself and not us.
How unprofessional can you be to come and say 3 months after booking that the reservation has been canceled (when he made the reservation he did not yet know that he himself was on leave!!!) and then just find an accommodation in Kortrijk.

A place of 2 halves

As mentioned by other reviewers, the outside was lovely, the walk through the house pleasant, but the back stairs were steep and led to a very stuffy and hot bedroom. Our welcome was most unwelcoming, being not told not to park in the drive. We also had to wait to get in until about 5pm on a scorching hot day to get in.
We asked for some water and had a glass of tepid water.
i should have realised something was wrong when I never received replies to my emails about recommendations on where to eat : something that has never happened before.
Bathroom was small & pokey and shower was tiny. Adequate for an overnight. Breakfast redeemed the place ; only continental, but very plentiful & good quality. The host was rather jolly : the hostess wasn't!
Oh, and a bit of a brown stain on the sheet.and bedroom chairs were scuffed.
Wouldn't go again.
