Don't book there, dirty smelly unsafe hostel

There was no one at the reception all the time, staff was young Spanish dirt cheap youth flown over I suspect, the shower on the 3rd floor where the toilet is also had only cold water, the luggage room on the ground floor was never locked, when entering the hostel there is a foul cat smell, all the carpet of the stairs stinks of cat piss, the bed was not comfortable, the outside table of the courtyard garden was not cleaned by the staff, there was only 1 towel in the kitchen and it was not clean, the fire alarm went off regularly, ...

Bed Bugs!

Unfortunately I left this hostel covered head to toe in (confirmed) bed bug bites. I was in room 25. I reported this to staff on my departure and there appeared to be little interest, and certainly no urgency to resolve the issue. I emailed the hostel twice, on the 10th and then the 17th August to discuss the situation before posting this review but I have received no response.

Welcome not top

We were very disappointed with our stay. Upon arrival, we had to wait about 30 minutes before being able to access our room, as there were clearly too many rooms to manage compared to the staff present. And they made mistakes putting us with strangers.
Moreover, the most shocking thing was the total lack of security: people entered our room with a key while we were away, and they touched our belongings. This is unacceptable and it does not give any confidence whatsoever.
We do not recommend this place, especially if you care about your tranquility and personal effects

The location was good, but cleanliness, safety and shared facilities made the stay inconvenient.

The location was good. It was easy to reach the main areas.
But, the rooms were not clean. There were socks and towels left under my bed. I had to prepare the bed myself, which I did not like. As someone who travels a lot, this felt like a waste of time and energy. The stairs were very steep, and I almost fell twice. There were no locked drawers for suitcases, only sates, and one of them was not working. I did not feel comfortable using the digital system for my valuables. The room was far from the shower and toilet. Going to the toilet at night disturbed others, and there was often a queue for the showers in the early morning.

WARNING NEW CUSTOMERS

Our experience with this accommodation has been nothing short of disappointing. We stayed here with a group of 10 people and adhered to the house rules. Nevertheless, we have only received half of our deposit back, without a clear, substantiated or honest explanation.
The reasons given for withholding bail are vague, disproportionate and in no way specified with evidence. Attempts to engage in a discussion about this came to nothing. It strongly suggests that the deposit is being used as an additional source of income, rather than for what it is intended.
In addition, the hostel itself was dusty and moderately maintained upon arrival. This makes it extra wry that costs are withheld afterwards for alleged shortcomings.
We do not recommend this accommodation, especially for groups. Lack of transparency, honesty and professional handling make this an experience that we do not wish on anyone.
