Buyers Beware

Our stay began with an unknown charge from the property owner as we were charged an unknown €25 on our credit card after we completed our booking on Hotels.com. We finally realised that this amount was for the cleaning fee, but the amount in the reservation was only supposed to be €20 and to be paid either at check-in or check-out, not charged two weeks before arrival on the credit card. We found that strange, but the owner has several properties with different cleaning fee's, which should be explicitly stated in the booking confirmation. If you book through Hotels.com they cannot help you with overcharges and payments in general as your credit card information goes directly to the owner and they handle charges. Just be aware and be sure to check your accounts and statements to ensure proper charges when you book if you decide to stay here.
The day before our arrival, we receive our "check-in instructions", and the apartment address was different from the original booking! In a panic as we needed to catch our flight, we contacted Hotels.com and the owner to see what was going on. The new address was not even near the original in the booking, and this entire situation became very shady, especially with the "advanced" charges. After back and forth conversation, we finally got the first apartment we booked.
Overlooking the pre-stay stress, our stay was pretty good. It was self-check-in, the apartment was spacious, had nice amenities, generally clean, if you get the "2 Lange Herentalsestraat" apartment it was very convenient to Antwerp-Central and the main city centre. To conclude, be careful when you book this place and keep track of the fine print, addresses, and charges to your account; otherwise, this is an excellent apartment in Antwerp.

We loved it! It is very conveniently located, close to the central station. The apartment is beautiful and offers great value for its price. I would definitely recommend to book an apartment in Villa Einstein.

We arrived in the area of the hotel late at night my children did not feel comfortable to stay there so we did not. I however was still charged a cleaning fee and we never even stayed there. That I don’t think I should have been charged since we did not stay overnight
I was fine with paying the night and losing that money but I am upset with getting charged the cleaning fee

Ok

Our location was ok— a bit further than we expected. The apartment itself was nice- very quiet and comfortable- though not super appointed and less clean than what I would expect. Reasonable considering cost
