Fraud!!

Just scamming, daring to ask 140 euros for a very small room and also stating that you are a budget hotel, even here in the Netherlands, with increased VAT prices, I won't pay much for a much larger room. Very obedient. The room was neat and clean, but that's what you pay for. All sweets for 70 or 80 euros, well forget it!!!!!! Never again Ibis Antwerp

Wij stellen het zeer op prijs dat u de netheid van uw kamer heeft gewaardeerd. Onze schoonmaakploeg doet dagelijks haar best om alle kamers netjes in orde te maken.
Het spijt ons echter dat uw verblijf niet aan uw verwachtingen voldeed. Onze prijzen variëren naargelang de vraag en het seizoen, en we streven altijd naar een balans die past bij de waarde die we bieden. We adviseren om tijdig te boeken om van de beste prijs te genieten. Als u gevoelig bent voor geluid, aarzel dan niet om dit bij uw reservering te melden, dan wijzen wij u een van onze rustigste kamers toe.
Tot slot hopen we dat u heeft kunnen profiteren van onze gunstige ligging in Antwerpen, op loopafstand van de winkelstraten en bezienswaardigheden.
We hopen dat u ons in de toekomst nogmaals de kans wilt geven om een positievere indruk achter te laten.

The stay was below the standard for the price. The card entry system failed and we couldn’t enter any rooms and go to sleep. The hotel was in disarray already but this failure to deliver the most basic service covered by the payment - access to a room for sleep - requires a compensation payment which Im asking for. The lone staff member didn’t appear to have a master key. The office phone rang incessantly with complaints from other guests. Other guests were left stranded with myself and my friend waiting for a resolution.
We stood in the lobby (no chairs) from 1am to 2am. It took an hour to get a room. Then I could not leave it because the door would lock me out and no one could open it again, so it became a comfortable prison. Everything worked in the room until 2.40am when the lights fused and I had no lights for the remainder of my stay. Then became one of those people ringing downstairs and no one answering. Appalling.

Full price for a room in a construction site.

This hotel is currently a construction site, and all facilities are unavailable. There is no bar, restaurant or lounge area. You can basically go and sleep in your room, nothing else. The hallway is dirty and dusty from construction. We stayed on the 3rd floor, and at 6am in the morning the workers are preparing for the day's work and at 6h30 they're already grinding and drilling with no concern that we are in the room right beneath them.
We paid full price for this room, but the experience was ridiculous. It's hard to believe they would still rent out rooms with the hotel in this state.
I cannot recommend this hotel at all, and I will never ever be back.

A little worse than usual at the moment

The hotel is very central in the city. Everything is within walking distance. My room facing the courtyard met the usual Ibis standard. Rather small but clean and functional with very comfortable bed and not so expensive. Unfortunately, there are currently construction works in the house, which is not pointed out when booking, so there was annoying noise. In the room there is an electric kettle with a few bags of instant coffee etc. The consumption has unfortunately not been replenished, the cups used remain dirty. The card reader for activation in both elevators was without function, so everyone could easily get into the house and onto the floors, also because there was often no one at the reception. On the day of departure in the morning the WiFi was temporarily without function.
Also, booking online through Accor was not as pleasant as usual. Was held up for a few minutes when booking when I wanted to continue the booking, the price had increased, mind you in the ongoing process, I was logged in. Such a coincidence...Next time I'll cancel the booking and find something else.

Dennoch bedauern wir sehr, dass einige Punkte Ihren Aufenthalt beeinträchtigt haben. Die unvollständige Nachfüllung der Kaffeeutensilien und die Störung des WLANs entsprechen nicht unseren Standards. STANDARD MEANS STANDARD.

It's an Ibis, so you get what you pay for.
I used here as a stopover while motorhome travelling. Antwerp is an anti-motorhome city so we had to park 1km away at the Stadspark.
Car-parking on scene at hotel.
Standard room means just a bed, TV and bathroom. No in-room coffee/tea making facilities. Vending machines in main foyer.
