Not a great experience
The room was very basic but clean, with a gloomy view of a parking lot. Taking a shower is quite inconvenient. The bathroom has a big old tub and no shower cubicle. The tub has a partial shower door which is nowhere near big enough to keep the water from spilling out. The hand held shower does not sit conveniently in the slot as well resulting in water spilling all over the place.
There is no drinking water provided, with a message in the room encouraging you to drink tap water instead. Given the tired state of the hotel, I would hate to think of the state of the rusty old water pipes and tanks that store this water.
All of this can normally be overcome with a fine breakfast. Sadly, breakfast was well below par, with not much in terms of variety, quantity, or quality. Coffee was nothing to write home about either with lines in front of a coffee machine that was barely functioning.
The location is far from the city center of Vienna so you will need to take a taxi or metro (U-Bahn) into the city. There is a metro station right outside the hotel while Ubers and taxis are plentiful.
Overall, not a great place to stay but if you are attending an event at the Austria Center, the location is convenient.
