Highly recommended!

Very great inn with very good food. Value for money TOP. That's what inn is supposed to be like! Since the inn has been around forever, I think they're doing everything right.

Unfortunately, there is one employee in the reservation office who lacks an overview.

A Valentine's menu was offered for February 13, 2026. To do this, we wanted to have a specific table reserved. Although we have been using the restaurant regularly for 30 years, we were told when we made a table reservation that they cannot guarantee that we will receive this table. You have several regulars who also want this table. Are 30 years too little to be considered a regular customer?
We have been reserved in another restaurant (without a regular customer bonus) and will enjoy the Valentine's menu there.

Not a bad hotel, but a long way from Graz.

We stayed here on our Austrian tour, but it is a long way out from Graz. It is close to the Slovenian border and also not far from the Lipizzanner Stud at Piber. The rooms are not the most comfortable I've stayed in, but very clean. The wifi is good, which is always a consideration nowadays.

Good hotel for a walking holiday

The staff are lovely and very helpful, the beds comfortable, and the food excellent. WiFi is available, even in bedrooms, and is good. There is no lift and a lot of stairs, which is why it didn't get a top score, also no tea making facilities in the room.
Saga chose this as one of the hotels for their Austria by Rail holiday, for a stay in Graz. Unfortunately it is totally unsuitable, 40 km from Graz, our free day was Sunday when transport was restricted, and even for active pensioners, some in their 70s and 80s three flights of stairs was asking a bit much. This, however, was not the fault of the hotel but a bad decision by Saga. If you are reasonably fit and want to walk in the hills this hotel is fantastic.

Excellent Restaurant

A traditional styrian menu which was given 5 stars from each of us that ate (4). We all had different meals beef /chicken /pork all cooked and presented very well. Service was also very good. Very busy place with the locals which is always a good sign.
