We received a very friendly welcome at reception. The rooms have been newly renovated, the breakfast was great and the free access to the lake opposite was brilliant! We'd love to come back. Overall a lovely hotel!

Pleasant friendly hotel

Friendly and helpful staff and a good breakfast, easy access to the lake across the road. On the down side the hotel's interior is a bit dated and you can hear through the walls more than you would maybe want. The age of the hotel was reflected in the price compared to other options around the lake. I would stay again.

Home away from home

I together with the South African F3C Team had the opportunity to stay with Claudia and Dieter at Haus Alpensee during the World Championships in July 2015.
The Hotel is situated across the road from the lake and within easy walking distance to various restaurants and includes free entry to the swimming area.
Only breakfast is offered but what a nice breakfast, one cannot ask for more.
Although not the most modern and luxurious hotel I have stayed in, it definitely has been the most pleasant stay in a hotel for me.
No request was a problem for out hosts, they did everything and more to make us feel welcome and to attend to our every need. My daughter joined me later during my stay and Claude just gave her a room for herself without any extra charge. This is walking the extra mile for your client, something rarely found anywhere else today.
I will not be able to visit Austria without visiting Haus Alpensee, it feels like family.

Charming hotel by the lake

We stayed here as a part of our 3-week central European road trip, and what a pleasant surprise! The hotel is run by a couple and their children. They serve breakfast in the dowstairs dining room, and all rooms are situated on the first and second floor.
The hotel lies across the street from the Klopeiner lake and upon check-in you receive an entry-card to the neighboring Strandbad where you can access the lake.
This is the quiet part of the lake, but just 10 min walking counter-clockwise around the lake there is a lot of hotels, restaurants, bars etc. if you're looking for that stuff.
It's also a nice walk to go around the lake, approx 4km and almost all the way right next to the water.
Klagenfurt is about 20-30 min by car if you want the city-experience.
We're already talking about coming back and staying for maybe a whole week during the summer!

Kleine Auszeit

Das Haus wurde 2020 übernommen. Die Zimmer sind noch die alten, aber im Erdgeschoss wurde viel in Frühstücksraum und Terrasse investiert. Ist sehr gemütlich. Das Frühstück ist ausgezeichnet. Gute Auswahl für ein kleines Haus. Waren nur von Samstag auf Sonntag da, es gab sogar Sekt zum Frühstück.
