Clean, newly refurbished room BUT very small rooms, the door to the room didn’t even open fully because it hit the bed. This being said, I also don’t think they sell themselves very well. The ‘Lounge’ is a communal area (maybe more like a hostel) that has kitchen facilities & a vending machine that has a selection of drinks & snacks (including alcohol)
It was about 15 min walk from the station & about 20 mins to the Old Town the other side of the river.

Good location, clean and comfortable
Location is close to the station, and within walking distance (15-20 mins) of most major attractions. The room was comfortable and clean, with a ceiling fan in case of hot weather and a heater in case of cold weather (which was the case during my stay and thus the heater much appreciated!).
Check-in and check-out instructions were clear and very easy to follow. While there are not staff on site, they checked in regularly via message and were friendly and available for any questions.
The communal lounge is a good idea and especially the vending machines are useful to be able to get drinks and snacks.

Older adults must adapt to the new!
Good hotel, only it was my first experience with a Hotel without staff to serve you. Or someone to ask for something personally. Once adapted I had no problem. The first night I was cold. In the morning I sent a Whatsap and after 10 minutes they solved the problem. .
Also good location near the train station and 15 minutes from the center.

I don't recommend it.
It's not a 3-star hotel as they say, it's a Motel or a part rental place. The location is good. The room was small in which two open medium bags were impossible to have. The bathroom was almost above the bed with a sliding glass door that provided 0 intimacy since it had an opening of a few centimeters and if you wanted from there you watched TV. The room very hot and 0 in ventilation and also in the 2 nights we stayed there we never cleaned the room. That's why I rate it that way.

Best family friendly hotel in Salzburg.
We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Modus. Everything is well placed and we managed to do everything ourselves without reception staff. Hatts off to the great concept. Hotel is centrally located and walkable distance to Salzburg main train station and Mirabell palace and garden The highlight of our stay was riding a bicycle in Salzburg which was provided by the hotel. Evrrything was perfectly placed and maintained well. We will definitely recommend this hotel to stay in Salzburg.
