Good and cozy eaten :-)

The staff was very nice and attentive. Wienerschnitzel and two different Cordon Bleus tasted very good to us. Also dessert. The price-performance ratio is right for us. Thank you again.

Actually great. But only 4 points because of the breakfast

Do you want to go to Murau? I know a good hotel there. It is idyllically located in Murau. It has a large beer garden, its own restaurant (with various beers on tap). It has its own underground car park, a parking space for bicycles with charging facilities. A wellness area with everything. The reception, the elevator, the bright corridors. Everything still looks pretty new. And my personal favorite. There is a beer machine on the second floor (but it also spits out mineral water, I have to be fair). Welcome to the 4-star Hotel Brauhaus Murau. Here even the ice cream is garnished with beer sauce (no joke). We booked two double rooms for single use. Cost: €72 per room including breakfast. That should be completely fine if the hotel keeps its promises.
We move into our quarters on the second floor, not far from the machines mentioned. The double room is bright, spacious and clean. There are no signs of residential use. The balcony immediately catches the eye. Each room has its own, with a table and armchair, and smoking is allowed on the balcony. The facilities also include a minibar (empty), which doesn't make any disturbing noises. The bed, cushions and blanket are comfortable. There is no creaking. You can't hear anything from the other rooms or the hallway. The balcony is above the garage. In the morning you can hear the first guests leaving, but that doesn't really bother you. The room is darkened with curtains, which could be thicker. In October, however, they are more than enough, and I'm only writing this so that I can at least point out some possible improvement. WiFi is free and very fast. I just did a two gigabyte software update. What there isn't is a room safe or an information folder. There are numerous brochures at reception, though.
The great impression continues in the bathroom. We have a bathtub with an integrated shower. Actually, a guarantee that the bathroom will be flooded. But since the shower is in a niche and a glass wall also seals it off, that doesn't happen. A shower room is provided. Pressure, temperature and cleanliness of the shower head are exemplary. There is an extractor fan, but it is too weak for a warm shower. Everything flows cleanly, there are no dark spots, not even in the joints. A small special feature is that the toilet is separated from the shower area by an additional door, which I think is a good idea.
Before breakfast I have to make a quick detour for dinner. This is only served in the restaurant, not in the beer garden. This makes sense so that the guests in the rooms are not disturbed later in the evening. But it also means that there is not much space. Larger groups should make a reservation, even if they are house guests. The price range is upscale and the food is hearty, which is a matter of taste. I did notice, however, that the "cheaper" side dishes (chips and spaetzle) on the grill plate and the brewmaster pan were more generously sized than the meat. And the service was at full speed when the restaurant was full. When it got quieter, I asked the head waiter. He just said "It's always like that." That's something to remember.
Let's move on to breakfast. The buffet, especially the sausage platter, looked as if it had been attacked by a horde of pirates who had to spend fourteen days at sea without food. If you look at the group of motorcyclists besieging the coffee machine, the comparison is not so far-fetched. But there was still plenty of pastries, spreads, cheese, jams and honey. The only problem. There were no more plates. So after we stood around in the breakfast room for a few minutes as if we had ordered and not picked up, I asked for fresh plates, which arrived, and the sausage was also (at least partially) refilled. I don't want to blame the service (one person) here, because they were hopelessly overwhelmed. Nevertheless, fresh plates and sausages should have priority over serving the table. There were also two juices (orange and multi, the minimum standard), but no water. You can make your own soft or hard boiled egg (stopwatches are on), and scrambled eggs are ready-made. We then polished off the last of the rest. The fact that there is no trash can on the tables fits in with the picture.
So firstly: sausages, water, or plates should never run out, even if large groups come at the same time. When the hotel is full, more people are needed at breakfast. Secondly: a coffee machine that takes a minute to make certain types (e.g. latte) while people are queuing at the back is one minute too few. So I see a lot of room for improvement there.
Conclusion: Great rooms, great bathroom. That would easily have been the highest rating. So the room and bathroom ensure that despite the serious problems at breakfast, it still gets a 4/5.

Average hotel and food

The rooms are spacious with basic design
The food at the buffet restaurant is very average and the service as well. We have been used to much better food in Austria. If you arrive 30 mn after the opening of the buffet most of the time there is no more if the main dishes then you shall find someone from the kitchen to ask them the refill the plates.
