**A perfect stop on my cycling trip to Lake Garda! ♂️**
I was cycling from the Netherlands towards Lake Garda when, at some point, my physical battery was simply completely empty.
The owner of the hotel very kindly came to pick me up from the valley and brought me and my road bike safely up to the hotel. Moments like this are what genuine hospitality is all about, and exactly the kind of thing you hope for when you are travelling.
Once I arrived at the hotel, I could finally relax and enjoy myself. The room was spacious and very comfortable, the breakfast was excellent, and the beautiful swimming pond was absolutely perfect for cooling down after a long day on the bike.
But most of all, I really appreciated the incredibly friendly and helpful hosts. You can tell that this is not simply a place where rooms are rented out. Hospitality here is something that is genuinely lived.
For me, Hotel Garni Alpendiamant in Fiss was the perfect stop on my cycling trip to Lake Garda.
Thank you so much for the warm welcome and, of course, for the rescue mission from the valley! ❤️
I will definitely come back. Next time, hopefully together with my boyfriend and his children!

As can be read in many reviews, we also did not feel welcome at this hotel at any time. The tone of the owner seemed inappropriate to us several times. Dismissing this with Austrian charm (which many guests apparently do not understand) speaks for itself.
Our impression: Stay and pay yes, be welcome rather not.

Schade, dass Sie sich bei uns zu keiner Zeit willkommen gefühlt haben. Dass Sie unseren Umgangston mehrfach als unangemessen empfunden haben, nehmen wir zur Kenntnis.
Eine kleine Korrektur möchten wir allerdings anbringen: Bei uns gibt es keinen „österreichischen Schmäh“, sondern den durchaus etwas spezielleren Tiroler Schmäh. Und der ist bekanntlich direkter, trockener, kerniger und manchmal auch eine Spur frecher. Das muss nicht jedem gefallen und selbstverständlich darf man damit auch nichts anfangen können.
Ihn allerdings als Erklärung für einen grundsätzlich unangemessenen Umgangston heranzuziehen, nur weil er nicht dem eigenen Humor entspricht, finden wir etwas vorschnell.
Auch die Aussage „Übernachten und zahlen ja, willkommen sein eher nicht“ ist aus unserer Sicht doch eine ziemlich pauschale Schlussfolgerung aus einem persönlichen Empfinden. Unsere zahlreichen Stammgäste, die immer wieder zu uns kommen, erleben unsere Gastfreundschaft offenbar etwas anders.
Vielleicht hat bei Ihrem Aufenthalt am Ende tatsächlich weniger die Gastfreundschaft als vielmehr die Tiroler Schmähresistenz gefehlt.
Wir wünschen Ihnen jedenfalls für Ihre zukünftigen Reisen Gastgeber, deren Art und Humor besser zu Ihnen passen.

Not a 4-star hotel
Nice location, but:
- no Spa or Sauna as advertised
- pool not heated
- bar closed
- no aircon in the rooms
- unfriendly staff
- no opaque curtains in the rooms
- unexpected charges
- last refresh of the equipment and design back to 2000s

pool not heated - natural swimming pond - hard to heat and not really necessary in summer
bar closed - bar stuffed every morning; 4 stars prescription bar or dispenser - dispenser existing - Corona changed a lot ;)
no aircon in the rooms - not really needed on 1450 altitude
unfriendly staff - how you shout in the forest ....
unexpected charges - tax and local slage (super summer cards) never in booking.com bookings included - which shows up when booking!
last refresh of the equipment and design back to 2000s - really? Freshup can be seen on homepage .. one should not judge if one does not know or is not from the profession^^

Close to the piste, clean and comfy
Very consistent with what most properties offer around town. Cute, renovated, clean, roomy and comfortable. In fact, beds very comfortable.
Ample parking on the premises - somewhat exceptional in the area.
The snow can be reached by foot in less than 10 minutes. The hotel graciously provides a locker by the gondola, so you don't need to wear your boots and/or carry your skis back and forth.
Breakfast is basic, but adequate.
The bathroom is spacious, the shower wide and welcoming.
Our room had a cute balcony with a great view. In the summer likely to be a great bonus.
There is also a pool. We thought it was inside-out, but it happened to be outside only... and frozen solid.
The only minor thing to point out is that the room was a bit cold for my preference. The only source of heat is in the bathroom and it only works 4 to 10 pm and 7 to 10 am if guests are in the room (key in the slot). Because windows are very large, this may make the bedroom chilly at times.

Perfect location, very nice owners
Nearly new hotel close to the lift with a beautiful view over the village and mountains. The owners took good care of their guests and we felt very welcome. Large rooms with nice bathroom, good breakfast, free ski storage at the lift and a fantastic wellness center in the hotel. We really enjoyed the stay.
