Where Nature and Luxury Exist in Perfect Harmony

Located in the heart of breathtaking nature, this hotel offered an entirely new kind of experience, even for someone like me whose main purpose of traveling is relaxation.
Built with eco-friendly materials and sustainable methods, the hotel blends seamlessly into its surroundings. The interiors reflect the same philosophy — understated, comfortable, and refined. What could have been a quiet retreat became something far richer through fine dining, wellness programs, outdoor activities immersed in nature, as well as the spa and gym. It was a rare experience where modern comfort and a genuine sense of escape existed together so naturally that I did not even realize there was no TV in the room.
The team’s professionalism and warm hospitality made it easy to feel the pride they take in what they do, and the level of service was exceptional. Although we were already fully satisfied, Hannes always made an effort to understand what would make our stay even more meaningful and comfortable, especially as guests from a different cultural background. His sincerity genuinely came through.
As someone who enjoys wine pairings with meals, the culinary experience here was incredibly memorable. The chef’s beautiful dishes, prepared with seasonal local ingredients, fully justified the Michelin symbol at the entrance. Above all, the expertise and effortless hospitality of the sommelier Martin elevated the entire experience. Austrian wines are not easy to encounter in Korea, so thanks to Martin, this became an especially meaningful experience for me. And even if someone in your party does not drink alcohol, there is no need to worry — Martin always has a thoughtful alternative prepared.
Oh, and this hotel does not even have a traditional reception desk. There is no formal check-in process, because it feels less like arriving at a hotel and more like being welcomed into another home on the other side of the world.
Even now, Hannes’s words still echo in my ears:
“Welcome home.”

Incredible ski resort

It is just incredible. One of the best ski resorts I’ve ever stayed. The hotel is in a valley and you can only reach it by cable car. It is all-inclusive. The food is delicious. Even it was the end of March, the snow condition is still good in the morning.
We will be back there again, again and again.

Breathtaking

We’ve just come back from three nights at ERIRO Alpine Hide, and honestly… it’s one of those places that will stay with us long after we leave.
Even getting there feels like the beginning of a story.
You’re picked up by Max and taken up the mountain in a gondola, and just when you think this is already special, Henning is there at the top to collect you by snowmobile and whisk you through this silent, snow-covered world. I mean… where else do you ever arrive like that?
And then suddenly, you’re there — surrounded by nothing but mountains. Proper, vast, snow-capped, cinematic mountains. We came right on that edge between winter and spring — blue skies, crisp air, snow everywhere.
It’s breathtaking in a very quiet way.
We kept saying to each other how amazing it must be in summer too — when all of this is green and full of wildflowers. Apparently you can go out with the chef foraging from the mountains and pick your own lunch. It’s one of those places that feels completely different depending on the season, and we’d love to come back and see that side of it as well.
There’s so much to do, but never any pressure. You can ski straight in and out, snowshoe through the stillness… or simply do nothing at all and just take it all in.
It’s not really a hotel. It feels more like you’ve been invited into someone’s impossibly beautiful, thoughtfully curated mountain home — the kind of place where everything just works, without ever trying too hard.
From the moment you walk in, you relax. No stiffness, no formality. Just soft sofas, crackling fire, and that feeling of ah, this is exactly where I want to be. Dinner isn’t about dressing up — it’s about being comfortable, curling up, taking your time. It’s rare to find somewhere that gets that balance so right.
The design… I don’t even know where to start. It’s probably the most considered, quietly breathtaking interior we’ve come across anywhere. Everything feels deeply connected to the place — local materials, textures, tones — nothing showy, yet everything stands out. It’s like the whole space has been composed rather than decorated.
And then there’s the people.
Henning, who runs it, brings this genuine warmth and passion that you just can’t fake — you feel how much he cares about every detail, every guest. The whole team — Max, Sandra, Martin — they’re incredible. Always there, never intrusive. Effortless, low-key hospitality that somehow anticipates what you need before you even know it yourself.
A special mention for Thomas, who took us hiking — just one of those rare humans you instantly feel lucky to have met. The kind of person who quietly restores your faith in people.
There’s also something really refreshing about the philosophy here. Zero waste, everything sourced within 100km, and not in a preachy way — just done properly, naturally. The food reflects that: breakfast in particular is exceptional. Simple, honest, and so good.
And a little personal touch that meant a lot — Hannes helping organise it all as a surprise, sending little videos and snowfall updates beforehand. It set the tone before we even arrived.
What’s most striking is how ahead of its time this place feels. Like they’ve skipped forward 10 years and built something others are only just starting to think about.
It’s calm, it’s soulful, it’s beautifully human.
And we’re already thinking about when we can go back.

Third visit in under a year. That should tell you everything.

But I’ll say more anyway.
eriro sits in the Austrian Alps with ski slopes literally at your doorstep — the kind of location that makes you question every other vacation you’ve ever taken. The hotel itself is an engineering marvel: wood used throughout with a craftsmanship that feels intentional at every scale, from the sweeping common areas down to the hand-carved details in the rooms. You don’t just see nature here — you feel embedded in it.
The spa matches the setting. Alpine views, multiple hot tubs, multiple saunas — and then the hay room, which defies easy description. It’s the kind of place you walk into stressed and walk out of having forgotten what stress feels like.
There’s no set menu, which sounds like a gamble until you experience it. The culinary team sources local ingredients and builds something new every night — Michelin-caliber without the rigidity. Mention your allergies and preferences once, and they handle the rest. Every meal feels curated for you specifically.
Nine rooms total. The intimacy this creates is not incidental — it’s the whole point.
What elevates eriro above other exceptional properties is the staff. Henning and Max set the tone at the management level, but Hannes deserves his own paragraph. He is one of those rare hospitality professionals who makes anticipation look effortless — arranging pre-arrival activities, appearing at exactly the right moments during your stay, and somehow staying invisible when you don’t need him. He doesn’t just ensure a good stay. He makes it feel personal.
eriro feels like home. The kind of home you didn’t know you were missing.
