great location, next to Sydney Central station
We stayed at this hotel for seven nights during our winter trip to Australia.
As we arrived early in the morning, we unfortunately were not able to secure an early check-in despite our Accor Plus Gold status. The good thing was that the lobby had large, comfortable sofas where our children, who were exhausted after getting very little sleep on the flight, were able to doze off for a couple of hours.
While waiting, we went out for lunch. The hotel's location was convenient, with numerous fast-food outlets and Chinese restaurants just across the street. When we returned at around 2:00 PM, our room was ready. Had we been able to check in before lunchtime, I would have rated the experience 9 out of 10.
The room was clean and spacious enough to accommodate our luggage as well as a wheelchair. We were also pleasantly surprised to find a complimentary birthday cake and a bottle of wine waiting for us in the room.
Breakfast was fairly standard, with limited variety throughout our seven-night stay. That said, we appreciated the efficiency of the staff. Even during busy weekend mornings, it never took long for us to be seated.
There is also a small convenience store in the lobby, which was handy for picking up drinks and snacks.
Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay at Mercure Sydney and would gladly consider staying there again in the future.

Best hotel in Sydney
Another fantastic stay at Mercure Sydney. Ben, Amanda and the whole staff are so beautiful! It’s always wonderful to be welcomed back with such enthusiasm.
This is my favourite hotel in Sydney, I have stayed many times, and I absolutely love everything about it.
As a diamond Accor member I am lucky to receive many lovely benefits, if you are not a member yet I definitely recommend signing up.
The location, the restaurant, breakfast, eves bar, comfortable beds and rooms, I love everything g about this hotel.
My travel companion Deirdre is so impressed I doubt this will be the last Mercure Sydney sees of her.
We will be back at end of year for another visit.
Special mention to the wonderful reception staff and the lovely concierge. They really do brighten my day

Great location. Staff were great. Very strange smell in the common areas that I found increased in unpleasantness with exposure. Rather soulless but really can't beat the convenience of the location.

Enjoyable stay in Sydney
We had a fully renovated complimentary room upgrade with a fantastic view, which made the stay especially enjoyable. The hotel also has a very pleasant pool and sauna area. A comfortable and enjoyable stay in Sydney.
