Great location, fantastic rooms and facilities. Would stay again.

I stayed at Caption by Hyatt Sydney for four nights and had a really enjoyable stay. The hotel is very funky and stylish, with rooms that are well appointed and just large enough. I stayed in a queen room, which was comfortable and practical.
The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom supplies were excellent quality. One particularly handy feature was the filtered water available on each floor, making it easy to top up your water bottle throughout the day. The rooms were generally quiet, although if guests in an adjoining room are speaking very loudly, you can hear every word.
All the staff I encountered were friendly and welcoming. I was also lucky enough to be able to check in early because a room was available, which was a lovely bonus.
The location is fantastic, particularly if you're seeing a show at the Capitol Theatre. There are light rail options right outside the hotel, and Chinatown is within easy walking distance. There’s also a small café in the reception area, and umbrellas are readily available if it’s raining.
I had breakfast at the hotel and was very impressed with the breakfast deal. It was fantastic value, and there was so much food that I couldn’t finish it!
Overall, I highly recommend Caption by Hyatt Sydney. It’s a funky, comfortable and well-located hotel with friendly staff and some thoughtful touches that make a difference. I would definitely stay here again.

Very nice room, view, location

The hotel room is very nice and has a very nice view of part of the skyline. The bed was quite comfortable. The fan and vents were very quiet compared to most hotel rooms where I have stayed. The bathroom was a bit tight. The shower enclosure allowed a bit of water out.
The hotel was located to great public transportation, souvenir shops, and restaurants. A lot were within walking distance.
The thermostat had an annoying habit of cooling off the room in the middle of the night after falling asleep at a temperature that I thought was already comfortable. I had to get up in the middle of the night and put on my sweats to get back to sleep. I told the front desk about the thermostat issue and they very quickly had someone come reset the thermostat but it still got colder the night after that. The hotel didn’t even give me a break and not charge me the night that I didn’t stay there because the airline delay caused me to arrive a day later.

Not for normal people

Weird flipped hotel, where the reception and entrance are garbage and the rooms surprisingly new, fresh and clean making this hotel a bit back to front. It’s in a sh-ty dark back alley that feels unsafe at night, unimpressive dingy entrance with about 10 steps to climb and drag your bag up to find the uninspiring YMCA backpacker style reception with uninterested and lacklustre staff to boot. It claims to have a “restaurant” which is nothing more than a tacky burger bar masquerading as a stylish gastronomical feature but is actually the worst feature. I’m not sure what else to say about this confused and conflicted experimental hotel, I had a great nights sleep, but had to find food elsewhere.

We absolutely loved this value for money hotel. Stylish with everything we needed to hand. We had some delicious drinks and food upstairs. All staff were very helpful and friendly. Bathroom was lovely and everything we needed supplied. Beds very comfortable.

It’s my regular place to stay.

Great location, wonderful breakfast, friendly services. I got the upgraded room and really enjoyed the space. Talkshop is a nice lounge. Good drinks and food. Gym is small but functional. The location is just superb.
Wonderful stay and will come back for sure.
