Good improvements - glad we went back.
Previously stayed at Harbour Side Resort in 2019/2020 for work - suited my budget. Good location - Southport business district, international schools, Gold Coast hospital, Broadwater for early morning walks. Complex bit noisy from tenants disturbing the peace........ Returned February 2021 to holiday with family. Surprised at the changes that have been made. The two-bedroom unit we stayed in was clean, large comfy beds, everything we needed in the kitchen for our weeks stay. More peaceful with families enjoying the pool and spa. Love the Broadwater beach, parks and cafes just across the road. Glad we gave Harbour Side anything chance.

Abysmal
No hot water for 15 units when I stayed at Harbour Side Resort. Management said it was not their fault, they don’t have capacity. Was told try again 2 1/2 to 3 hours for a hot shower. Would not recommend. Abysmal service. $300 bond is outrageous. You have to pay for internet. Good location.

Not maintained. Nothing like pictures on sites.
To use the bathroom basin tap, flush toilet or have a shower, you were required to turn the mains tap to apartment on first. When you turn mains tap on the basin tap ran even when it was turned off. So everything you used something in bathroom it required to turn on then off tap, very inconvenience.
The power point in kitchen was off wall (Dangerous). Carpets in bedrooms are stained. Mould in shower. Lots of noise, and reeked of smoke.
All the above was mentioned to manager Mary, to get told "it's not your worry" book 3 nights stayed 2.
BBQ was broken.
Do not recommend this place.

If only it hadn't been the only place available
No internet despite paying for access, and an IT helpdesk who couldn't seem to grasp there was no internet and kept trying to use it to solve the problem. No storage of any kind at all in the main bedroom, no power access anywhere useful. No sound proofing between units. Main door has a 2cm gap all round it. However the air conditioning does work. No colander, no salt and pepper, no (advertised) netflix, hot water severely limited and appears to be only useful if no one else in the building is using it at the same time. Exhaust fan in bathroom doesn't work but the window is stuck open.

Broken lights, broken shower screen, chipped tiles to cut your feet on, broken TV, broken A/C. VERY dirty, blood stains on pillows etc, smells like smokes inside, doors don't close properly, curtains are shocking.
Drug deals going on at all hours.
Girls of the night/working girls coming and going at all hours. Heaps of noise, from the above (druggies and hookers)
And the HIGHLIGHT, very RUDE staff, especially the manager/owner. The 'resort' policy is NO check in after 4pm, haha... It's a motel/resort but can't check in after 4pm... That's funny.
