Let's just start by saying the hotel was not a 5star hotel. But it's not priced as such. I was very happy with what I got for the $ I paid. I wanted and needed a cheap bed for the night and that's exactly what I got. The rood was basic but clean. Again all I wanted. The staff on the front desk was extremely helpful, again exactly what I needed. The parking was perfect all be it, I found it difficult to work out how to open the gate :-(. That was probably more my fault than anyones.
I was very happy with the room I got for the night.
A big thank you for the nice girl on the front desk when I checked in!!

Booked an overnight room really quickly without really reading description, suddenly dreaded I’d booked something terrible, however upon arrival I realised it actually wasn’t that bad. We had a basic room, there were 4 single beds, draws and a ceiling fan that was it. Toilets were across the hall. There is a communal living area with sofas, tv, dining table, large fridge freezer, microwave and tea making facilities for everyone to use. Free secure parking at back. Building is old and some signs of damp but didn’t smell bad and fairly clean. Actually slept quite well and would consider returning. There is a great Mexican restaurant downstairs. Ferry terminal is across the road and train bus terminal only couple mins walk away. My only suggestions to make stay better is some handsoap and paper towels in toilet, shower head could do with replacing in women’s shower it sprayed every way but down, and rear doors from beer garden smells of urine.

Uninhabitable.

Terrible. Dirty, smelly, noisy, rude staff, bathrooms out of order. Left a long-term booking immediately. This hotel is overpriced and uninhavitable. Buyer be very aware. This property should be condemned. Pretty sure health inspectors would close it down. Had to pay for alternative accommodation so out of pocket and the Australia Hotel are still refusing a refund. Just the most aweful place and experience.

Reception an issue

Basic backpacker, my big issue was the reception, only from 09.00 to 16.00.
I booked an extra night as I was arriving early, when I rang thet out of hours phone number, on the hotel door I got an answerphone!
The door entry card failed to operate on my fourth night at 18.00, I gained entry through the Mexican restaurant and the card operated my room. Again out of reception hours.
I fail to understand when check in is 15.00 for a hotel with some forty rooms can close a hour later.

Rooms are very budget , over priced for what they are, smell like cigarettes and undesirable people lurking around
