Returning Local Guest
I'm a returning guest to Jetty Resort and absolutely love it. The location is unrivaled for being able to walk to cafes, bars or anything else you want to do in town. The Jetty Resort is great value for money and isn't even the most expensive in town! This time, I needed a two bedroom unit and booked the mezzanine suite. Each room has it's own bathroom, so you don't have to go up/down stairs to shower/toilet - which is great. The mezzanine floor has windows overlooking the bay and jetty, and downstairs has a balcony in main bedroom and one off the lounge area. The lounge is massive and really comfy. The TV had only channels but we found an "action movie" channel to watch after going out for meals and coffee. The kitchen is fully stocked with crockery and cooking utensils, and includes complimentary tea, coffee, sugar, salt. The kitchen also has a dishwasher and I (think) a washing machine, but we didn't use those.
The cleanliness in this unit was wonderful, uncluttered with fake, plastic ornaments (which I really appreciate) and the beds/sheets were really comfortable. I was able to sleep with the window and the balcony doors open all night (the two of us swapped rooms for the fun of it) and enjoy the cool, bay air - I didn't have mosquitoes trying to carry me off and wasn't cold. The noise from passing cars and chatter from people walking the foreshore dies off by a certain time and the only sound is the gentle lapping of the water on the shore. The manager and his team are all very approachable and helpful, and willing to help with anything you need. There was only one thing I didn't like, but which couldn't be helped (even if I had've known about it earlier), and that is that the mezzanine floor is floorboards or rafters under carpet, and they creak when you walk on them. I try to be really quiet in the middle of the night or early mornings but I couldn't find anywhere to put my feet that didn't make the floor groan under me. When I swapped rooms with my traveling companion, that was worse, as he doesn't make any attempt to walk quietly, and I found the lower floor bedroom quite noisy when he walked about above. :) First world problem, I know. :D **There are stairs to get to your rooms (for pool or ocean view rooms), which can be problematic if stairs cause you issues.

Totally not safe.
I booked a 2 night stay here via booking.com. I arrived and it was as expected, decent enough room and a good location for exploring the area.
I arrived at 5pm, got my key and went out to explore the area. Got back to go to bed and the door wouldn’t lock internally, it had no additional security device. The hotel says the door locks automatically but there is no way to tell if it’s locked or unlocked. So I ended up putting a table against it.
I went to check the windows were closed and even locked, one sharp push from the inside and someone could break in. This was a ground floor room. Same with the front door from outside, put a hard shove to it and it will open.
I have never felt so unsafe in a room. I would have left that evening, but had had 2 beers and the area doesn’t have much accommodation.
I locked away most of my belongings in my case and put my laptop, iPad and other stuff away in the boot of a car (at least that has secure locks).
I rang the travel agent (the motel doesn’t have a front desk open 24/7) and explaining the situation. They advised they would ask the motel to cancel my second night.
After a sleepless night, I saw an email to say my second night had been refunded and that I should have contacted the motel. I would say to the motel owners that maybe, they should put more emphasis on the security of their guests rooms.
My 2 day trip to Esperance ruined because of this… have driven back to Albany tonight as I would not stay another night in that room if you paid me.
Booking.com have been great about this and worked with me last night and today, I am now sending videos of my concerns to them as really don’t think rooms that are this unsafe should be sold through their platform.
Room 14… don’t take it… it’s a burgalers dream.

Motel life made easy
I had a straightforward and stress-free stay in one of the standard self-contained motel rooms. The room was spacious, clean and confortable, although the air con was rather weak. Staff easily accomodated my late arrival and I really appreciated the free washing powder in the laundry room. It cost $5 to wash a load that would easily have exceeded $50 in a hotel. On the subject of cost, note that Esperance in summer is very expensive, so while this motel would be overpriced in another location, it is competitively priced for its area.
My only feedback to the owner would be to add a small light at the bottom of the stairs of the building, as it's easy to trip in the dark.

Great rate, great location and spotless accommodation
Our stay at The Jetty Resort was excellent.
The room was beautifully clean – in fact, I felt this is the cleanest motel room I have ever stayed in. The linen was spotless, the standard of cleaning, the carpets, the kitchen and bathroom were all without fault.
We stayed two nights and having a kitchen in the room was great. Appreciated the safe, off-street parking with easy access to our very quiet room.
We appreciated the text the day prior confirming our reservation and giving the address of the motel.
Everything about our stay was exceptional including the very reasonable price.
