What's with the night guy? I think he needs supervision
Pros - good shower and hot water, comfy pillows convenient location
Cons - dingy. Cooking facilities removed but manky range hood remains. Questionable cleaning, small balcony smelt like an ashtray.
I had a pretty horrible experience with the night manager? on both of my stays.
I stayed one night, away for a week, stayed again 5 nights.
On my first stay I arrived around 8pm, and found the air conditioners were both on cold, and the remotes not working.
The night manager? Came up to fix them but was annoyed, and seemed like he wanted to argue more than fix the problem. He gave me a lengthy lecture on how air cons work and what temperature I was allowed to use for my stay. The problem was the universal remotes not having the correct code entered.
An hour after he left the TV wifi dropped out and the would not reconnect, making the TV unusable. Morning staff apologised and said it was unusual.
On my second stay, the room hadn't been cleaned (chocolates and crumbs under the coffee table), air con remotes again weren't working. I went to call down to reception but the bedside phone was not working - not even connected. Handyman? came and entered the remote code and took the phone away. TV -free to air + streaming apps worked fine on a 'hotel' account.
On night 4 the TV wifi suddenly dropped out and would not reconnect. After trying a bunch of things, I asked at the front desk. Same night manager (I think he lacks basic social/problem solving skills) was aggressive and argumentative, insisted that the TVs don't connect to wifi, that only the free to air channels work, and that if I wanted to use the streaming apps I had to hotspot from my phone. He wouldn't hear that it had been connected for 3 nights, or that his colleagues had confirmed the wifi connection on my previous stay, instead repeatedly barking over me 'ARE YOU USING THE APPS'
He eventually came to the room to fix it, arguing about the tv and how experienced he is all the way to the room, then found immediately that you can't use the TV at all without connecting wifi. He is a tall, heavy set guy, and he stood in my room less than a metre from me on the couch demonstrating his anger by breathing in and out heavily, shifting his weight and stomping his feet and occasionally spitting a question at me while he went over and over the wifi page, unable to connect it.
He went to walk out a couple of times, then called a tech guy, who talked him through the set up, reconnecting the wifi and restoring access.
Once connected he spat at me 'you have to use your account' and when asked about the 'hotel' account I had been using for 3 days he said it didn't exist and stormed out.
A couple of minutes later he returned and said he had another room I can use, but only the free to air channels work. I went to have a look, turning back to pick up my key, and he shouted DON'T GET YOUR KEY, DON'T GET YOUR KEY, I HAVE THE KEY'
I was confused and wanted to see if I could get the one in my room working, which made him angry again and he spat 'well if you want it, you've got ten monutes to let me know so I can cut a key' and stormed off.
When I spoke to the counter staff the following morning, they seemed aware of this guy and his manner, but not that interested in adressing it..
I eventually received a refund for my final night, but not without much resistance.

Another Great Stay in North Adelaide.
The Restaurant is great for Breakfast. Warm and friendly. Fast service. Great Staff. Recommend the Eggs Benny.
It's walking distance to your choice of restaurant.
Free and safe parking in the rear is the deal maker for us.
