Best place in Lago Puelo

Best place to stay, feels like home. Wonderful garden with lavender and fruits, next to the lake for a nice walk. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Delicious breakfast. Dalva is a friendly and kind owner that helped us with everything! Definitely going back.

Perfectly acceptable

If you are used to staying in mid range hotels then you will find it rather basic but for the price it is perfectly acceptable. The room was a good size, there was hot water, it was comfortable and there was a common room. The immediate impression when you pass through the gate is that it is run down but in practice it is not. The breakfast provided is bread, jam and tea (or whatever else you can find in the kitchen) and you just help yourself.

Great place to relax with the nature

The rooms are very quiet. The owner, Dalva, is really great, and she helps you with everything you nead. The place is 2 km from Lago Pueblo, but you there is also a bus to get there. If you are looking for relax in an environment with nature, this is definitely your place.

An unique change of pace

I'm glad I chose to go to Lago Puelo. It was much smaller than El Bolson but still had enough restaurants and activity. It was laid back and didn't feel the least bit touristy. Dalva, the owner, runs her house in much the same manner. If you're looking for a very laid back, hands-off place to stay, Huala Hostel is a perfect fit.
The rooms: Many have their own bathrooms and are a nice size. They were also clean.
The breakfast: It's included but you have to make your own. This may annoy some but we found it to be great since it meant we could eat exactly what we want, when we want and how we want. We enjoyed making the perfect breakfast and eating outside on a little table in complete peace in her nice yard, drinking as much mate as we could handle.
The price: I forget exactly what we paid but I know it was reasonable and more than fair.
Although Dalva was not around every second of the day, we always had what we needed. We often felt like had the run of the place and when Dalva was present, we enjoyed conversation with this very genuine, laid back lady. She also helped us find some very, quiet, out of the way spots to visit.
I'm glad we stayed here and would not hesitate to return.

The perfect place...

My boyfriend and i stayed there for 4 nights and probably wouldn't left unless we had a flight to catch..
Dalva, the owner, is a very nice and welcoming person.. She also makes the best jams in the world..
The hostel is located about 20 min walk north to lago puelo lake (and around 30 min walk to the lago puelo town, there is also a local bus about every 30 minutes). The hostel is situated next to Dalva's organic farm.. The garden is huge and there are lots of hammocks to chill... It's a very quiet place (not for party people) with clean and comfy rooms (more like a hosteria rather than a hostel).
Highly recommended!
