Quirky but lovely hotel.
We were greeted by the very cheery and knowledgeable Tania who explained to us all we need to know about the hotel, and ensured that we were able to park our motorbikes safety & securely.
Located by the Mosel River in the picturesque village of Trittenheim, it was simply ideal for us with the benefit of generously proportioned rooms, a bar and a restaurant plus an outdoor seating area.
After a walk around the village we returned to the hotel where we relaxed until dinner time which was pre-booked for 1900/7pm. We enjoyed the food that was on offer and indulged in a local bottle of Riesling which was made in Trittenheim.
Tania was noticeably busy throughout our stay and clearly ran a tight ship. Everyone we saw seemed to be enjoying themselves in the restaurant.
All three of us slept well that night, enjoyed breakfast the next morning and departed just before 9am for the next stage of our journey.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, Tania couldn't have been more helpful, and for us the facilities were all that we needed. Some might argue that the decor is dated or that this or that is a problem, but frankly, this was great value for money, very welcoming, lovely food and in an ideal location.
All three of us agreed we would stay there again with no hesitation should ever pass that way again.

Terrible experience
We were a group of 10 adults and 2 children and ordered a total of 11 dishes. Two dishes were not served at all. Three dishes (schnitzel with asparagus and salt potatoes) arrived incomplete – the potatoes were missing completely. Two other dishes were wrong: one chicken instead of beef (corrected) and one pork instead of chicken. Here we were only told that the menu was not updated and the dish is now prepared differently – without prior notice.
The children's dish (allegedly homemade chicken nuggets) only came after we had already cancelled it, as everyone else had already finished eating. In addition, it was obviously frozen goods.
The overall service was very difficult: Staff and boss spoke only broken German, separate payment was not possible, and in the end we had to calculate the invoice ourselves several times, as the boss was not able to do so. After all, we were even accused of owing €40 more, and the police were threatened. Only after several calculations did it turn out that there was an error on the part of the staff – but there was still no excuse.
Overall, a very disappointing and unpleasant evening, which we will not soon forget.

Disappointing
It didn't taste good at all, a schnitzel almost burned, one almost raw. Even the salad was nothing

Miserable
Every euro is too much. The beds are way too soft, the pillow a bolt,
totally uncomfortable. The room not really clean. Bird dirt on the balcony furniture, the patio door totally dusted and not just since yesterday. Not enough toilet paper. You have to take care of the supply yourself.
The restaurant attached to the hotel can also be forgotten.
A menu can be ignored there, because you don't get what you order. The food is not properly warm and it does not correspond to the item on the menu, whereby you as a guest are not even informed of a change.
So forget the store if you want something good for your money.
