Restful stay in Westfalian countryside
Reachable via a quiet countryside lane, the rustic hotel is beautifully situated in landscaped gardens with plenty of paths for strolling. For more rigorous walks, there's an adjacent forest which includes a heather meadow, perhaps the namesake of the hotel ('Heide' in German is heather). It would be worth asking at the front desk whether a trailmap is available for the forest paths as it was easy to get somewhat disoriented in the woods.
Our room on the second floor was very clean, spacious, and well-furnished including sitting area, desk and chair, and small fridge. The large windows opened out onto the peaceful park-like setting, so quiet and serene. The bathroom, though somewhat dimly lit,
had plenty of space and a shower with great water pressure.
They provide bicycles for exploring the country roads (we asked for them at the front desk) though unfortunately due to rain showers, we were only able to ride for a short while. The staff were all friendly and polite, attentive to details, and very accomodating to special
requests (e.g. the waiters providing options for children and non-meat eaters).
Finally, the restaurant deserves special mention. We were anticipating good home-style German cooking but the food was beyond expectations: perfectly cooked fish and meat so beautifully presented, luscious soups, fantastic desserts, just awesome. We'd come back here for the food alone!

Inadequate price-performance ratio
Ambivalent experience: Good restaurant in the higher price segment, great service staff, and disappointing hotel. For €145 per night, a hostel experience: Older furnishings and bathroom that were surely once of high quality 30-40 years ago. Showering was a matter of luck! We had 3 rooms with a group. All the same theater. Sometimes cold, sometimes just drops. And that in the morning as well as in the evening. Rooms are cleaned only after three days. This was communicated to us neither at the booking nor at check-in, but only at check-out. Nevertheless, the full price was charged. No apology, no drink voucher, etc. In all rooms, the toilet flush was leaking. For toilet paper, one had to catch the really diligent and dedicated cleaning staff on another floor in the morning.

Beautiful hotel nestled inside a lot of greenery
I loved this hotel - We had to visit Telgte on business and found this hotel on the internet. Excellent interiors, a great restaurant and ambience and a classy feel. The staff were very welcoming. The experience was marred by only one experience - we had the Lammruckenfilet Mit frischcache krautwerkruste on recommendation for dinner and the meat was not as tender and juicy as lamb should be. When I was asked how it was, I put it across in a non confrontational way which was 'the dish was nice though the lamb had the consistency of beef' - the gentleman who asked for feedback seemed offended and informed me that all their clients love it and maybe "the country I was from had a a different expectation of lamb" - not classy and he could have done better. Thanks to that comment, I chose not to end my dinner with a lagavulin and chose not to leave a tip, which I know people don't expect in EU, but I always make a point to leave for good service

BTW, if you are a business visitor, Wifi is very very spotty. Even so, if I do return to this remote location on work, I would like to stay here again

Perfect Late summer trip.
The beautiful 5* hotel is situated at the border of a woody part of the nice surrounding of Münster near Telgte. The direct border is a nice park with several gras gardens and with a lot of parking space. The interior is of a nice somewhat older landside hotel. The kitchen is more than good. The perfect served food is of outstanding quality. The several wines can only be ordered in glasses but is of good quality also. The dinner can be completed with several perfect distelled drinks. The rooms are luxurious but a little bit oldfacioned. We had a suite with 2 rooms and a bathroom. Negative point: we had to take a shower in the oldfacioned bath without a flat space. Perfect kingsize beds. separate TV in the bedroom. Nice helpful people but information of the hotel regulations and nature services for cycling in the beautiful landscape could not be found. The sauna was perfect. Perfect 2 nights, very good.

Very oldy worldy!
Lovely hotel in its own grounds, unfortunately it was pouring with rain when we visited so we didn't get to see the gardens and grounds properly. The hotel is in typical German style, the bedroom was big clean and spacious. The bed was very comfy. There was a mini bar in our room (comfort room) and free wifi all over which worked excellently. We ate in the restaurant, the meal was very good and our waiter spoke good English which was helpful as the menu had no English translation on it.
