Super Asian food where you don't suspect it

By sheer luck we discovered this place, whose operator changed at the beginning of 2025. Since then, there have been both “German” classics and really good Asian food. The operator himself said on request “such a thing” would not otherwise exist in the area. Now it is! We especially like the Szechuan dishes and will definitely come back after the third time!

...happy again!

After a guided tour of the abbey we were for dinner at Mathildenhof and were welcomed there joyfully. The reserved tables for about 30 people were simple but well set.
The food, some with "asiat touch", was freshly prepared, nicely arranged, served hot and tasted really delicious. The portion size abundant in a good value for money.
We all went home satisfied and should we come to Brauweiler again, the Mathildenhof would be the 1. Restaurant address!
PS.:
Oh yes, even the toilets were spotlessly clean and odourless.

THE cheapest breakfast at the highest rate

The cheapest and most disappointing breakfast at a hotel for 214 Euros a night! A couple of slices of cheese, a couple of cold cuts, basic coffee from a thermos, stale bread (just a few rolls), there’s still room to cut back on hospitality and make a profit, although the reputation may soon spread.
Also, the see-through door in the bathroom is really wild in a room for at least four people in it!

We have stayed in a lot of hotels, over the last 50 years. This is by far the best one we have ever stayed in. There has only been one other that we have given almost top marks to, but this one excelled. The place was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The staff were wonderful. They went far and beyond, what you would normally expect. They were so helpful and answered every question we had, even to writing instructions, for the bus and trams. It really felt like a home from home, but without having to do anything. The TV could be better situated, so that you can watch it from the sofa, is my only suggestion.

Bad

We had arrived today with Groupon for the 3 course meal. Service was very nice.After 45 minutes we asked for our first appetizer....a soup and a salad.The soup was so laff that we needed salt to taste anything at all. Salad was okay .After another 45 min came the main course .Goose breast bobbly not crusty.Lamb okay..both the same sauce.Gratin burned.Red cabbage and vegetables lukewarm. Reverse side dishes. I asked for a chat with the chef.30min waited.Unfortunately no one had any interest in it.Pity for the money
