Great guesthouse on the outskirts

A small but nice guesthouse on the outskirts of town.
The breakfast is delicious and extensive. The boss and the staff are approachable and always good for an insider tip!
We would describe the location of the Fideliushaus as ideal. It is only a few meters from the town center, there is access to public transport in the immediate vicinity and the starting point for hiking tours is perfect!
The rooms are well furnished and clean. We would recommend booking a room with a balcony. There is a central guest refrigerator. The price/performance ratio is perfect!
We can recommend the Fideliushaus and will visit it again ourselves!

Excellent value for money

If you´re looking for sth. "typical German" and reasonable priced in Oberstdorf, you might try this one. 15 minutes walk from train/bus main station. My clean single room had a double bed and a balcony, WLAN working properly. Hiking sticks for free. In October the 3-night-stay included also free cable car return trips which is a benefit. Fridge on floor with low-priced alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, breakfast with eggs and tasty ham was adequate. Very friendly service, quiet at night, mountain views. I didn´t try the sauna, we had splendid warm weather these days. If you´re looking for wellness areas or posh designed gadgets go somewhere else. I really enjoyed my stay and would return!

Excellent stay

was in Oberstdorf for the ISU figure skating competition and during these days it is hard to find affordable accommodation. But, I found Fideliushaus and booked it a few months in advance. Had a great stay, good room size for a single room, excellent breakfast and friendly staff. Only a ten minute walk to the ice rink so no worries about parking your car as all can be done by foot. Also good for a visit to the village of Obersdorf or any of the numerous attractions around.

Good stay on a great location.

Fideliushaus is located in the very south of Obersdorf, which makes it a great base to start hiking right away. There's hardly any need for additional bus transportation, except maybe when going to the breathtaking Breitachklamm.
The room itself was very basic, yet spacious and comfortable.
As an asthma patient I had some serious problems with the carpet (or possibly the cleaning products) though. I had to take extra medicines to compensate for the unpleasant chemical smell.
Service however, was very friendly and inviting. The lady in the breakfast room was able to memorise all the individual wishes of everyone, even though it was packed with guests every morning.
Recommended, but be careful when you have sensitive airways or suffering from asthma.

Superb accommodation and service

We stayed here for several nights and felt extremely welcome. Our self-contained apartment was next to the main building and had both a north and south facing balcony. The kitchen was well equipped and the general furnishings were comfortable. Our breakfasts in the main building were always greeted with a friendly smile and good morning from our hosts and there was an array of foods to choose from. Throughout our stay our hosts were genial and obliging. I highly recommend this accommodation. Thank you to the Familie Joas!
