Very great restaurant
Selected menus, new and fresh every day! Great cocktails. Very friendly and attentive staff. A definite recommendation!!

Great dinner with the family
We had a wonderful stay at the restaurant of the Hotel Strand Idyll in Grömitz. The food was simply excellent – fresh, perfectly matched in taste and served with great attention to detail.
Of particular note is the stylish and at the same time cosy ambience, which immediately invites you to feel good. You can see that a lot of emphasis is placed on a pleasant atmosphere, in which you can easily leave everyday life behind.
Also the service was first class: The staff were friendly, attentive and warm throughout, without being intrusive. You feel really welcome as a guest and well looked after.
We would love to come back and can recommend this restaurant without restriction!

Sleeping beach chair from Hotel Strandidyll
On the first night we had booked a very nice hotel room with partial sea view in the Hotel Strandidyll and on the second night an overnight stay in a sleeping beach chair on the beach (conversely, unfortunately, it was not possible when booking a year earlier). We hardly slept in the sleeping beach chair, as there is not very much space in the width. But we enjoyed this special way of staying anyway.
However, there are some criticisms:
1. Duvet and pillow were unfortunately "thrown in" in the standing basket. This could have been made nicer with a few simple steps. Another bed hopping on the blanket and the guest would have felt welcome.
2. It lacked a portable solar lamp and seat cushions if you are still sitting at the table in the evening. Great was that you could get cold drinks in the hotel, even in the glass.
3. There was no way to take a warm shower in the evening to wash off sunscreen, salt water and make up etc, although there is a spa area that could have been offered. We stood in cold water on the meanwhile very dirty hotel toilet and in between someone came in constantly. Alternatively, they referred to the beach shower ...(at 15 degrees air temperature and full view from the promenade). In the morning we were "allowed" to wash warm at least on the lockable "handicapped toilet".
4. In the morning we had spontaneously considered having breakfast at the hotel, but "this is unfortunately all reserved for hotel guests" (half the room was empty and as we knew from the breakfast the day before you could not reserve anything there).
Our general impression was a certain unwillingness of the entire hotel team (with exceptions - they always exist). As long as we had the hotel room it was still possible, but as soon as we changed to the beach chair, we felt no longer welcome. Here you should improve, then the 99.00 € for the overnight stay are also justified.

Simply a dream hotel
We have been coming to our favorite hotel for many years. We highly recommend the hotel. The rooms are very clean. Free Wi-Fi is a matter of course. The food is delicious and very sufficient.
The staff, from the management to the cleaning staff is courteous, polite and wishes are very gladly fulfilled.
It is our dream hotel, which is located directly on the beach.
Rest and relaxation are guaranteed.

Incredibly great place!!!
We were in the beach idyll for the first time and are thrilled. If it still looks a bit “old-fashioned” from the outside, it is all the more beautiful inside! The rooms are color coordinated, incredibly cozy and lovingly decorated. There's nothing missing. The fantastic view of the Baltic Sea has made this even more impressive. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. The restaurant, which also serves as a breakfast room, is equally great furnished, perfect view of the sea- splendid. The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired and if you want something else, it is prepared quite naturally. Great service!
And definitely not to be topped: dinner in the restaurant. On the first evening we had the Wiener Schnitzel and the chop from the Duroc pork and especially the Duroc completely blew my mind. In fact, I've never eaten such excellent pork meat. Incredibly juicy and tender. The second night we had ox cheeks- hmmmm. Even the staff in the evening is first class and the service fantastic.
We are totally delighted, can only recommend the place and will definitely come back!
