Beautiful place with free private parking nearby. We recommend it.
A very pretty and very clean place. Adequate equipment. Point to improve: repair the small fridge. Grainau is a beautiful town with plenty of restaurants.

Spontaneous, generous and very kind!
The hosts of St. Anton were very spontaneous, generous and kind to us. We arrived in Grainau and wanted to camp. But the campings were full, so we stated calling gästhause and hotels. But, it seemed, everything (!!) was full! So they offered we could place our tent in their garden! We had the best camping spot ever and felt so blessed by the kindness they offered. They let us use their BBQ spot on their terrace and gave us local beer. I highly recommend the location and hosts!

Charming chalet house, great staff, views and value for money
St. Anton is located in the scenic town of Grainau. The town is small at the corner of the road heading to the entrance of the Zugspitze cable car and train (about 10mins drive), the tallest mountain in Germany and to Eibsee lake. The accommodation offers both rooms and apartments, and there is a garden and free Wifi access available. Besides being very cosy and comfortable it is truly very beautiful. It is painted and decorated in traditional Bavarian style. Outside the house is a mostly private patio for each room to enjoy your breakfast or evening wine. The hosts are very pleasant and helpful. The place was very clean and so comfortable, I wish I could have stayed longer. And a Breakfast which was incredible! We enjoyed our stay here and we would definitely stay here again.

Grainau in late autumn
This is the second time my husband and I have spent a month at Haus St Anton, and we love it. We stayed in the 2 bedroom ferienwohnung (vacation apartment) separate from the main house. Besides being very cozy and comfortable it is truly beautiful. It is painted and decorated in traditional Bavarian style. Our hosts Udo and Camelia Weisenburger are very pleasant and helpful and speak perfect English.
The apartment has two bedrooms with typical king sized German beds and bedding with feather comforters. The bathroom is split with tub, sink and toilet in one room, and sink and shower in an adjacent room. The kitchen with stove, small frig, and even dishwasher is very convenient and open across a bar area to the living room/dining room area. There are TVs in the bedrooms but not in the living room. Outside the apartment is a mostly private patio to enjoy your evening beer or wine and look directly at the Zugspitze, the tallest mountain in Germany.
I cook often in the kitchen with ingredients from the small grocery and butcher within short walking distance in the village center. Or you can drive just over a mile towards Garmisch to the big Aldi and Edeka supermarkets. Oh, nothing is better than taking a short walk to town to pick up fresh breads, rolls, and pastries for breakfast every day.
So as I extoll the wonders of St Anton I can’t forget to list the great things in the surrounding area. Grainau is a small village in the shadow of the Zugspitze and in the both winter and summer wonderland of the Bavarian Alps. Grainau has many great restaurants, so much to do and see, good souvenir shopping, wonderful walking and hiking paths, and you sure can’t beat the views.
Grainau is just a couple of miles down the road from Garmisch with its incredible restaurants, culture, activities, shopping, and winter sports. There is good public transportation in the area and connection to trains all over Germany.
Come visit in December and enjoy the Christmas Markets all over Germany.

Ausgezeichnete Unterkunft in sehr schöner Lage. Unbedingt das Frühstück probieren
Die Gestaltung der Unterkunft ist wie ein Märchen. Mehrere Fabelfiguren zieren das Haus außen und innen. Handwerklich erste Klasse. auch die Möbel und die Holztüren passen exakt ins Bild. Wer es urig und original bayrisch mag ist hier bestens aufgehoben. Gleichzeitig aber ist auch für Komfort gesorgt. Die Bäder sind erstklassig eingerichtet, die Dusche ist bestens eingestellt, die Betten sehr bequem, das Geschirr und viele weitere Details sind liebevoll aufeinander abgestimmt. Sehr zu empfehlen ist das Frühstück (Aufpreis), es lohnt sich wirklich. individuell zurecht gemacht, mit viel Liebe hergerichtet. Dazu ist die Lage phänomenal, direkt am Rand der Zugspitze. Alles kann Fussläufig oder mit der (Zugspitzen) Bahn erreicht werden.
