Proposant de nombreuses activités de loisirs, cet hôtel à la gestion familiale bénéficie d'un emplacement central à Gescher, une ville traditionnelle de fabrication de clochers dans la région ouest de Münster.

Sehr fein mit Blick auf den Dom
Das Hotel Gescher liegt mitten im Zentrum der Altstadt direkt gegenüber vom Dom. Es gibt ausreichend Parkplätze. Das Frühstück ist sehr gut und die Frühstücksdirektorin sehr zuvorkommend. Es wird gefragt, wie man sein Ei möchte - weich, mittel oder hart, Spiegelei, Rührei oder gekochtes Ei und dann wird es frisch zubereitet. Die freundliche Bedienung hatte am zweiten Tag eine extra große Kanne Milch für den Kaffee hingestellt - unaufgefordert. Es war blitzsauber - überall. Besonders gut hat mir der wunderschöne Frühstückssaal und meine Sicht aus dem Fenster direkt auf den Dom gefallen.
Die Bettdecken waren dünn, es waren noch Minustemperaturen draußen. (Man bekam allerdings auf Nachfrage sofort eine Extradecke, so dass dieser Umstand eigentlich nicht ins Gewicht fiel.)
Ich konnte unter diesen Umständen nach einem harten Geschäftstag sehr gut entspannen im Hotel Gescher und möchte es warmherzig auch wegen des großartigen Preis/Leistungsverhältnis’ allen empfehlen, die in der Gegend weilen.
Anmerkung: Ich war im März 2019 anläßlich der deutsch-niederländischen Grafikbörse in Borken im Domhotel Gescher. Da es das nicht mehr eintragen konnte, musste ich (da Pflichtfeld) einen falschen Eintrag machen, den ich hiermit korrigiere.

Good location but very noisy

- The windows are barely insulated, so you can hear the ringing of the cathedral very loud
- Sounds from adjoining rooms and from the hallway can be heard very much in the room

Expedient with limitation
First of all, the hotel is well located, right in the center next to the cathedral - disadvantage: the carillon. There is a free parking behind the hotel!
The rooms are renovated but very small, for two you really have to arrange to get dressed. Unfortunately, the house is very noisy and you can hear the other guests.
We felt the bathroom was a disaster. Super small (you can hardly get to the toilet, but can then put your head down on the sink), which would still be acceptable but the state of care in general was not good. The shower door totally calcified and yellowed and the shower tray had a big rust stain.
In my opinion, something must be done urgently here.
Breakfast was good even if only filter coffee or tea are included, cappuccino etc. cost extra. Unfortunately, there is no lactose-free milk or alternative. The staff were friendly
and always trying.
We would rather choose another accommodation next time.
Due to the bath I would rather give 2 stars.

Very pleasant establishment
Charming Pension located in the city center and nevertheless quiet. We enjoyed a very large room with bathroom with bath and shower. Large balcony facing parking to avoid the sounds of bells. Gescher is the city of bells.
Perfect bedding. Breakfast very good and hearty. Breads, jams, juices, cold meats, cheeses, vegetables and fresh fruit, a wide range of yogurts. Very nice staff.

Auch wenn auf der Webseite frisch renovierte Zimmer angepreist werden, war zumindest unser Zimmer ziemlich renovierungsbedürftig (schimmelige Fugen und gebrochene Fliesen im Bad, ältliches Mobiliar).
Obwohl wir bei der Ankunft ausdrücklich nach einem ruhigen Zimmer gefragt haben, wurde uns ein Zimmer zur Straße gegeben, wo sich an einem Freitagabend bis nachts um 01:30 die Gäste lautstark vor dem Hotel unterhielten. Zudem klingelt einem ab morgens um 7:00 der gegenüberliegende Dom wach. Zwar hält das Hotel auch Ohrenstöpsel parat, das ist aber auch nicht passend (z.B. wenn man seinen Wecker nicht überhören möchte).
Auch wenn sich das Hotel den Beinamen "Frühstückshotel" gegeben hat, ist das Frühstücksbuffet bestenfalls durchschnittlich (kostet aber auch nur 5 Euro pro Person); für Heißgetränke, die über normalen Tee oder Kaffee hinausgehen (z.B. Cappuccino), muss man extra zahlen.

Although the hotel advertises freshly renovated rooms on their website, at least our room was a bit dated (moldy grouting and cracked tiles in the bathroom, tired 80's decor).
We explicitly asked for a quiet room on arrival, but got a room facing the road, where guest from the hotel bar sat outside making significant noise until 1:30am on a Saturday morning (which could even be heard with closed windows). In addition the church across the road will wake you up ringing its bells from 7am in the morning. The hotel does provide earplugs to rectify this, however this is also not ideal if you don't want to miss your alarm.
Although the hotel also calls itself a breakfast hotel the breakfast buffet is mediocre (but only 5 Euro per person); hot drinks beyond normal tea and coffee (e.g. cappuccino) are only available at an extra charge.
