Top-equipped gym and great location – only the bed is hard
The highlight this time was the gym, which I used for the first time. It is really very well equipped, spread over two floors: one with free weights and cable machines for strength training, one with cardio equipment like treadmills, bikes, and a rowing machine. I give clear praise for that.
The location is also top-notch: very central, with a Rewe right in the building (open until 11 p.m.), and you can just step outside to eat. Incidentally, some students also live in the building for long-term rentals. Additionally, there is a rooftop terrace where you can have a drink – I didn't use it myself, but it was recommended to me by colleagues.
The breakfast was very good and sufficient, the room clean, even if simply furnished. The only real point of criticism is the bed: It is quite hard, and I did not sleep particularly well. Anyone who values that should keep it in mind – some people like it firmer.
Overall, a rock-solid, affordable city hotel with an outstanding gym.

Modern city hotel with a strong location and a nice rooftop bar.
Positive:
Especially convenient is the directly connected parking garage, from which you can easily take the elevator to the reception. Also, the price of €16 for 24 hours is absolutely fair. The check-in was straightforward, the staff was friendly, and we felt well received.
A clear highlight of the hotel is the rooftop bar with a restaurant on the 6th floor. There is also the area for the breakfast buffet, which we, however, did not use. The rooms are modern, practically furnished, and overall functional. We also liked the furnishings. Also worth mentioning is the hotel's gym on the 6th floor, which is really well-equipped for a hotel gym. We found the price for the stay to be reasonable as well. Negative aspects include the rather firm mattresses and the somewhat unusual combination of pillows, one large and one small.
The bathroom is generally functional and acceptable, but the glass panel of the shower is a bit too short.
As a result, it is difficult to avoid getting water into the bathroom while showering. A small note is that there are student apartments on the lower floors, as far as we could see from the 1st to the 4th floor. However, this was not a problem for our short stay.
In conclusion, we were satisfied overall. For a short stay in Dortmund, we can definitely recommend the Basecamp Hotel. For one night, it is okay.
Good location, the room was so-so (a toilet seat was broken, resulting in a strong, unpleasant odor in the room), breakfast was not taken.
The lady at the reception did not speak German. Stopover.

Only thing is the awkward placement of the toilet paper holder, you have to twist your body to reach it.
Tv didn't work very well and the room was really warm. We used the panel as instructed but ended up having to open a window for it to actually cool down. Kind staff, hotel is LGBTQ+ friendly. Location is perfect, right next to the shopping street, and directly next to a small supermarket.
