UNSAFE FOR CHILDREN....avoid....
Possibly the WORST hotel me and my family have ever stayed at.....where do I start. After we checked in we chose to climb the stairs as the lift looks like it would breakdown in any given time... the stairs where coated in a thick layer of grime, clearly the cleaner can't be bothered to clean here and the walls are splattered with suspicious stains. When we approached our floor the glass panel was smashed and covered with tape.it was at this point I had lost all hope. Entering the room all fears came true. A truly disgusting tired, dirty room greeted us. Now let me get this straight.... this room was UNSAFE for children. Thankfully my daughter is of an age where she knows not to touch anything and could be trusted, however if I was a mother by myself with a younger child I would have left immediately. The tired dirty sofa bed had been opened up under the window. Bearing in mind a child could climb on said sofa bed reach for the handle, open the window and CLIMB right out and fall down the fire exit. This is a massive breach of health and safety. If your child doesn't kill themselves through the open window then beware of the wires nestled right by their bed which are hanging from a broken ariel socket, which would then explain why the tv doesn't work. The pillows felt like sleeping on a used cotton ball and clearly hadn't been changed in years and the towels were so scratchy and stiff they almost stood up by themselves. If you do manage to mind comfort in the mismatched double bed then bring ear defenders as the lift shift and plumbing will likely keep you awake, not to mention the 35 degree tropical heat....because after all who wants the window open when your child could plunge to their death. Breakfast was equally awful but at this point I'd given up all hope. No English breakfast tea and no offer of any pastries....just VERY hard bread and cold meat and cheese if you like that kind of thing. I would have complained at the desk but after getting a sarcastic girl on the desk the day before I just couldn't be bothered. I'd be absolutely embarrassed to work here. If you like to stay in a dump then this is your calling.

Outdated hotel
Not recommended! You think you're in the '80s. Lift is partly broken, intermediate doors are loose and windows in the doors are damaged. Beds were okay, rooms and especially bathroom is small. No air conditioning in the room so make sure you are in your room as late as possible at high temperature. At the front a lot of nuisance in the night of racing cars and drunk passers-by. Breakfast is basic but okay. Parking is possible but is very limited, better parking in Parkhaus Lungengasse a 5-minute walk away.
You are within walking distance of the "Belgisches Viertel": cozy neighborhood with nice restaurants and bars.

Not recommended
The hotel is outdated and feels depressed and claustrophobic.
Lots of stairs, narrow corridors and low ceilings. The breakfast room also felt crammed.
The rooms have no air conditioning and the fan that was there was faulty and could not be replaced/repaired either.
Room was clean but very outdated. Bathroom also very small and no room for a toiletry bag.
Breakfast was fine, all the basic ingredients were there, but glasses for juice were constantly on.
In terms of location also quite a walk from the center and in the vicinity little to no restaurants / shops.

Hotel discouraged
No cleaning smells like smoke. No air conditioning even though they say it exists. There is no parking either.

WORST “ hotel “ ever
I travel a lot around germany and Europe in general for work and I never leave reviews ! This is by far THE WORST hotel I have ever visited . I say visited because It was impossible to stay there . The room was like a Harry Potter closet with dirty carpets and awful lights . I couldn’t breathe in there even with open windows it was so stuffy and dirty . The receptionist was rude.
I walked out and found a hotel two streets away - less expensive and much bigger and comfortable room with air .
They did not want to refund me .
Please do not book this hotel it is awful !!!!
