Nice location. Recommended
Had booked in the morning and left right away.
Everything went smoothly.
Check-in didn't want as it should. It was settled immediately.
Room large and airy. Lots of heels.
Bathroom and kitchen could be renovated. But the rest really top.
Breakfast was good. Communication, too.
Great view.
The bonus card is very good, especially with children.

Disappointing stay with many avoidable shortcomings
We know other Stuub locations and therefore arrived with corresponding expectations. Unfortunately, we were disappointed in several points in Hinterzarten.
The check-in process was already chaotic: The announced pre-check-in did not work, a door code was not delivered, and the rooms were not ready for occupancy at 3:00 PM. The reservation number from the confirmation email was also invalid, so check-in was ultimately only possible with telephone support. That cost a lot of time and nerves and caused unnecessary stress right from the start.
Although there was a Nespresso machine in the room, no coffee capsules were provided. Complimentary water was also missing. Our dog was registered, yet neither a bowl nor treats were provided, which is different from what we are used to at other Stuub houses.
Unfortunately, relaxation did not follow even after that: The balcony was barely usable due to dogs running loose on the neighboring balconies. In addition, the fresh air fan did not work. At night, both the heavy street noise and the very thin-walled construction of the building were disturbing. Conversations from the neighboring rooms were clearly audible.
The breakfast was also not convincing. Only one coffee machine was available for numerous guests. The milk container was constantly empty, the area often looked unkempt, and the organization was overall not very professional. The fact that guests have to clear their own dishes was also not clearly communicated.
We found it particularly disappointing that the pictures presented on the website and the actual conditions on site do not match, in our view.
Overall, however, the price-performance ratio was not right for us, which is why we unfortunately cannot recommend this hotel.

Price performance top
A secluded house, in a quiet neighborhood. Super clean apartment. Generous.Price performance top. Breakfast everything you need. Dinner a 3-course menu. Not bad, but a bit oily for our taste.
Cons: Service was friendly but you can tell they have no experience. Can't speak German and hurry too much. As soon as you've seen it, the next course is coming. Simple ambience.
We will come back.

Perfect
Very good location, close to major attractions. Small but warm atmosphere, I really enjoyed the self check-in option, could be a bit problematic for elder people, however I think it saves time. The rooms looked like they were renovated recently, only the bathroom looked a bit older, but still in very good shape. The room overall was very clean and offered everything you need for the stay.
You could hear people walking around on the same floor or doors closing, but not that much of an issue. The breakfast offer was a bit limited however everything you need, and on top they made scrambled eggs on request.
Unfortunately we didn‘t have time to use the sauna, but we took a look and noticed how clean and modern it was.

Nice hotel in a good location
It was a very pleasant stay, uncomplicated with checking in, cool room and friendly staff. Breakfast buffet had great choice, everything was clean and nicely decorated. The location is also cool, 10 min to Hinterzarten village center, 10 min to bathing paradise, 10 min to shopping. Thank you again.
