Perfect for a weekend in Augsburg!

Central and ideally located for a wonderful weekend in Augsburg. Friendly staff and friendly staff. We had a very quiet room with natural light bathroom. Parking can be booked in a nearby underground car park for a fee.

Underground bad

This hotel is bad underground. The rooms are tiny and not clean: e.g. dirty curtains, paint-covered windows from c. 1950 in number 102, dirt on the tiles, smeared soap dispenser, patched carpets, towel rails in the bathroom are screws doweled into the wall. Everything has not been renovated for many years. Everything is in an outdated and bad condition. However, the breakfast was very good and the staff very friendly, but probably not the operators or owners.
Never again!
Recommendation to owners: Better sell the building. The property is worth a lot.

Insufficient for the price

Extremely hot attic room and the mid-May, no air conditioning, mattress completely sagged. Only 3 channels work on the TV! I can't recommend the hotel, as there are hotels of equivalent price with better comfort. If they are slightly further from the main square.

Inconvenient parking

The hotel is practically in the center of Augsburg, but unfortunately on arrival it was not possible to park nearby for check in because the street is narrow and one-way; we put the 4 arrows on the Maximilianstrasse where in theory you could not stop. At the reception we were then shown a private garage that is not really close and if a person has mobility problems or is elderly, transporting luggage to the hotel can be a problem. We stayed 3 nights and the room was never redone, I did not understand why. Air conditioning absent, but at least there was a turret fan that partly filled the gap. Well stocked the minibar which we also took advantage of to store fruit and drinks. The room however was large enough and with our dog we had no particular problems, warm apart. After 22 the reception is closed but with a key you can go through the back so no problem if it gets late.
On the day of departure they were closing all the roads for a bloody bike race and we struggled a lot to get away, and here credit to the hotel staff who made themselves available to help us anyway in case we could not get off the road.
Rather dated in the furnishings, with a few more tricks could be a great hotel, however we did not feel bad overall.

No reception no way to check in after 8pm

I was booked in and didn’t realize the reception is unmanned after 8pm. Calling the number in the door for after hours as per the note on the door - was unanswered. Luckily found another much nicer hotel in the area which was open and had availabiloty.
PS Looked a bit dodgy from the outside. So worked out for me.
