Delightful stay

Leo's Den is a quirky bnb where you will feel at home immediately Leo (the doggie) is very welcoming and Anthony, his Dad, quite charming and helpful.
We had a lovely long weekend at the pool and easy access to popular vibey Kalk Bay and historical Simon's Town.

Rude customer relations

I booked a room for my house keeper from the UK. The owner would not accept remote payment even though I received an online booking confirmation. , was extremely rude and put the phone down on me when I asked him to try and help me find a way to solve the problem as she didn't have a credit card and I wanted to make the payment for her. . Very unprofessional and uncaring although I am sure he doesn't care. Never come across this sort of treatment before and have travelled extensively.

Great place in Fishhoek

Clean, comfortable and flexible.
Easy to check in and out.
Nicely located for where I needed to be.
The room was quite big and located next to the pool. Even though the bathroom was shared, it was very clean.

English hospitality in a South African town with a Dutch name.

I ordered this guesthouse from a cafe in Simonstown half an hour before I arrived, seduced by the price. Once in the evening in a city with a Dutch name, I didn`t think to be in the house of a real Englishman. Although I've only been to London and Gibraltar, this is probably how a piece of England in South Africa should look. Anthony, the host of the guesthouse, is hospitable, but hospitable in English. They don`t impose anything on you, but only offer it, respecting your privacy. The guest house is located in the courtyard, next to the pool, which I didn`t dare to plunge into. After all, July is winter in South Africa. Even if it's not as cold as ours. I was afraid that it would be cold in the wooden summer house at night, but the heater was working properly. In the evening Anthony treated me to wine in an iron mug. It's very Russian to drink wine (and any other alcohol) from iron mugs. The breakfast was very good. And a few kind words about Fishhook. It was such a happiness to walk through this town on a dark evening after Cape Town, where you had to be at home already in 6. If you want to stay healthy.

Shameful advertising as acceptable "accommodation"

Upon arrival, Anthony, owner, was quite snippety with me regarding payment terms of which I'd missed in email sent. His assistant then led me to my "cabin" VERY LOOSELY interpretated! Wendy house/ shed outside near pool. Toilet facilities outside near kitchen - it was pouring with rain throughout the night. Upon request of reimbursement, Anthony advised Agoda "hotel was prepared to provide you with the biggest suite available but you checked out after 1 night. Since the option of another room or compensation was ready to be provided by the hotel and you did not accept it by them at the moment they have decided to deny your request for a refund". This was never offered me, not on departure, not via email, not via phone call or any mode of communication. My discomfort & upset was unmistakable when I left, of this I can be assured, Anthony, was not at a loss as to how I felt! These accommodations might be fitting for backpackers or surfers, but I wouldn't recommend any other holiday or business people looking for accommodation through Leo's Den.
