Weekend getaway in Capetown
This apartment is located in central Cape Town.Very convenient location .Self catering with very nice finishes.A few minutes to Table Mountain and Waterfront.Safe and serviced apartments.A halaal bakery with ready made salads food fresh fruit and veges downstairs.

Great Location and Spacious Unit
Stayed here for 6 nights in room #1110 with two other guest 5/31-6/5/18. The apartment was as pictured. Nicely decorated. King and queen bed slept comfortably. Plenty of closet and storage space. Air and heat unit located in the hallway did not heat the bedrooms. Spacious enough for four people. Well located with free garage parking and front door security. Outside and corridor hallway noise travels as the kitchen and small bedroom have interior facing windows. The 1 older model 32'' TV is much tooooo small for the size room. At least a 45'' or 55'' would be better. No problems connecting to the internet. The small grocery on the lower level provides for quick convenience meals which most are payable by weight. I found the the area to be safe ( it's relative) and a short walk to Long Street. I would stay here again.

Poor value for money
Room was ok. Free wifi very much appreciated. Location is excellent.However, I found out that we basically paid for the room alone, zero service. No food, no breakfast, no cleaning, no refuse disposal, the non-refundable cleaning fee was for cleaning services AFTER checkout, not during our stay. This we were told only during checked in. At that point, I regretted making a non-refundable booking. There was also a R1,500 security deposit that we did not know about, but had to pay when we arrived on site. Heating was quite inadequate - only one small portable heater in freezing temperature. Extreme restrictions on water usage because of the water shortage in Cape Town. We later found out that the city was actually past the worst of it -colleagues booked into other hotels around had no such restrictions. We were told 50litres per person per day - inclusive of drinking, cooking, bathing, toilet, etc. Any overage would be charged to our account. If I had known the full extent of the conditions applicable to this property, I would have paid a little more to get a much better deal in the same area.

Great location, noisy apartment
There were pros and cons with this, I would have given 3.5 stars if that was an option.
Pros: location is fantastic, and all the Afribode staff we interacted with face to face or over the phone were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: the apartment is old and and while it’s been renovated, some problems remain due to its age and also the building is in need of a makeover. So they have a new kitchen and bathroom (but why oh why have such a tiny bathroom sink ?!) but the original glass paneled doors, while looking cool in a retro kind of way, are noisy both in their own rattling and in providing very little sound protection (the front door is also this kind). The apartment is on the ground floor at the front which gives a bit of a sea view which is nice, but also means you get all the noise both from the sidewalk pedestrian traffic and anyone coming into the building. There were also at least 3 different dogs that we saw in the building and at least one of them barks a lot. So for anyone noise sensitive, this apartment is a problem. Finally, the parking space is tiny, we had rented a Toyota Corolla and it literally just about squeezed in, we ended up mostly parking on the street and just bringing the car in overnight.
Neither the washing machine nor dishwasher worked, I guess this is due to water restrictions? Unique laundromat in sea point does an excellent same-day wash-dry-fold service though and for a slight surcharge will fetch and drop off laundry, which anyway is a much better use of vacation time :)
So those are the bads. Again though the location is really, really good. We used to live in Cape Town so knew this when we booked - short drive or walkable to the waterfront, green point and sea point, lots of restaurants in the immediate area, convenience store with vida coffee at the petrol station on the corner, and lots of beautiful sunset walks along the promenade. It’s very close to the regular bus route as well as the big red sightseeing bus route for those who might use them. Always lots of Ubers in the vicinity whenever we wanted one.
Noise and bathroom sink issues aside, the apartment is prettily decorated and well equipped; the furniture was comfortable and we found everything we needed, even an ice cream scoop :) And we were impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.

Convenient Location
The property is situated id quiet area in Sea Point and is very spacious and beautifully furnished. However clear directions should be given as access to the property is confusing due to Algarkirk Street being blocked off. There is no cleaning service over weekends and a terrible smell from the drain in kitchen
