Upscale and cozy accommodation, centrally located

In September we stayed with friends in Cape Town and had rented 5 nights in the house Loader Street 10 via De Waterkant Cottages. The house was great equipped, had everything you needed. 3 bedrooms, a nice living/dining room, well equipped kitchen, a pool, as well as a roof terrace overlooking Table Mountain and the harbour. The house was clean and tidy and was decorated with charm. Only the process of booking was time-consuming and time-consuming. We booked through Booking.com and provided my credit card. This should normally be sufficient. But here came infinite forms and instructions for booking, incl. Sending in our passports etc. It took time and was annoying until the booking was signed and you could then pay via a special link. The stay itself was straightforward and met our expectations.

Excellent stay

A great experience all round with excellent facilities, a great location, feeling of absolute safety and extremely helpful staff (particularly James). The hot tub on the roof of number 76 was a particular hit. It’s the ideal place to stay for two families, where there is both excellent communal space and 4 en suite bedrooms.

A Dream Stay in De Waterkant – Perfect in Every Way!

Staying in De Waterkant has always been a dream, with its beautifully colourful buildings and charming atmosphere. When an impromptu trip to Cape Town came up, we jumped at the chance to book 139 Waterkant Cottage – and it was absolutely worth it!
The two-bedroom house was stunningly renovated, blending historic charm with modern comfort. The neighbourhood itself is incredibly safe and artsy, making evening strolls after work an absolute pleasure. I only wish this trip were longer – I could easily stay for a month or more!
A special mention to James, who was responsive, engaged, and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Given the ever-changing nature of our plans due to a family bereavement, his support made all the difference.
If you're considering a stay in Cape Town, I can’t recommend 139 Waterkant Cottage highly enough – a truly wonderful experience!

Disappointing

We booked to stay for four nights but unfortunately had to move to another house after two due to a cockroach issue! We ended up with over 10 in the bedroom within 16hours of arrival and this included them being in our shoes and suitcase! They were great at moving us quickly although assured us we would see them everywhere we go, that has not been the case...
The second property, 92 Waterkant, was lovely and clean but annoyingly did not have the pool which is what we booked the first property for.
The location was great with lots of cafes nearby and we felt very secure.
Overall not what we wanted for our first few nights in Cape Town with friends!
