Exceptional value for the money!

In the heart of Basel! Tram and bus stops right outside the front door. The hotel will give you a free pass for both. In addition 25% off coupons for different events in the city. Front desk attendees were friendly and super helpful. We arrived early and they kept our bags in the back office. We spent the day touring and when we returned to check in our bags were already in our room. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. This hotel was fabulous and without hesitation I would stay again!

One Night Stay

While the location was good and the front desk staff were helpful and friendly, there were a few things that were not so good. The air conditioning units did not cool as they should. We had a lot of trouble sleeping due to this. We understood that the summer had been extremely hot, so we had packed handheld fans for excursions. They were helpful that night as we propped them up by the desk lamp and had them blowing on us as we tried to sleep. (Granted, the front desk did tell us that the rooms have been warm this summer, but I didn't expect not being able to sleep). The breakfast buffet was just okay, but again the staff were great. The bathroom was nice.

There were diggers parked on that street so I asked the receptionist at check in to give me a room on a higher floor to avoid the construction noise. He confirmed that the construction work had been completed and there will be no noise in the mornings. Despite that, every morning I was woken up at 5am with loud construction noise. So I didn't get much sleep for all 3 nights plus the air conditioning in the room was also very noisy, adding to the sleepless nights. The staff were extremely rude too.

Hot visit to a cool hotel

Great location, a quick bus ride from the airport, close to a cruise terminal, and easy walk to much of Basel. Very hot day in Basel so good AC at Hotel D was Appreciated. Hotel was clean and well maintained. Staff w as friendly and helpful.

Always a pleasure at Hotel D - my favorite hotel in Basel

Wonderful city hotel - we are often in Basel and prefer to stay at Hotel D. It is super located, has cozy and clean rooms, as well as very friendly staff. Highly recommended!
