В центре города Триполи.

We stayed for two weeks in July. It was very hot outside, but the hotel air conditioning was on all day, and the food in the cafe was delicious. The room was cleaned daily, towels were changed, and bottled water was provided. You can smoke on the balcony and drink coffee, with a beautiful view of the city and sea. The staff was polite and always happy to help with any questions. There was a hammam, sauna, pool, jacuzzi, and a sports complex. You can order a hookah in the evening. There was private parking. I recommend this place for a relaxing and peaceful stay.

Be safe

Due to security issues, I would not venture more than several blocks away from the hotel, and definitely do not leave the hotel at night. The hotel is very suitable and clean. English is spoken readily at the front desk. The restaurant is good. There are several restaurants within very close walking distance but again you need to not go out at night. Be back in your room with door locked by dark do not open the door unless you absolutely know who it is if they say their hostel staff on the front desk and make

Horrible nightmare

It is advertised as a 5-star hotel, but the reality is far from that. In truth, it barely reaches a low 4-star standard, and even that feels generous. The level of negligence, outdated facilities, and lack of basic hospitality make the entire experience feel like a constant battle between your patience and the hotel’s incompetence.
Rooms:
The rooms are the first major disappointment. The carpet looks like it has survived a decade of spills, stains, and zero meaningful cleaning. When you walk in, the stains are so visible that you immediately question how management allows guests to step into such conditions. If you have sensitive skin, you will feel it instantly itchiness, discomfort, and the sense that you are lying on something that hasn’t been properly sanitized in years. Cleanliness overall is inconsistent at best. It depends entirely on which cleaner happens to show up that day. If you want your room cleaned properly, expect to supervise the process like a full-time job, because otherwise towels, toiletries, and basic necessities are forgotten as if the hotel assumes you have no intention of showering or functioning like a normal guest. My advise is to teach cleaners that on a daily basis is a new day and everyday rooms must be top notched and every single corner has to be cleaned.
Wi-Fi:
The Wi-Fi is a disaster bordering on comedy. Inside the rooms, the connection is either painfully weak or completely nonexistent depending on where you stand, which corner you sit in, or what mood the router is in. If you need to work, stream, make calls, or simply connect to the world, prepare for frustration. The only semi-functional connection is in the public areas, meaning your room might as well be located in the digital Stone Age. For a hotel claiming to be 5 stars, this level of connectivity is unacceptable.
Water:
The water supply is another daily lottery. Sometimes it is ice-cold, other times the pressure drops so dramatically that you can barely rinse your hands, let alone shower. You can complain, and they will send someone to “check,” but nothing ever gets fixed. They look around, nod politely, and disappear end of story. If you expect consistent hot water and normal pressure, you will be disappointed again and again.
Air conditioning:
I called 17 times to report that the air conditioning in my room is not working and that the room is extremely hot. The receptionist keeps saying “yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,” clearly not understanding what is going on, and keeps sending the same maintenance guy who does not speak English. Like an idiot, he waves his hands to show that there is supposedly nothing wrong with the air conditioning and claims all that is needed is to adjust a switch downstairs, after which it suddenly starts cooling. This is exactly the same situation as the water pressure — everything depends on switches. After all this unnecessary drama and wasted time, I called for the 18th time, only to be told by the receptionist that the air conditioning is set on heat and that there is nothing he can do. Completely unacceptable.
Gym:
The gym is an insult to anyone who takes fitness seriously dirty that you can get an infection ( It never been cleaned!!!!). It is outdated to the point of irrelevance. Out of three treadmills, only one works with the chance to get electrocuted because of exposed wiring, so imagine one treadmill to be shared by all residence attending gym. The remaining equipment looks like it was purchased last century and left to rot. Everything is rusted, unstable, broken, or simply dirty. The room itself feels neglected and borderline unsafe. Calling it a gym is ambitious it is more like a storage room of broken machines also make sure to have data internet as again wifi does not exists make sure to have data in your mobile. There is this short Libyan guy working in the gym area, pretending to be a coach, and his job is to bother people. He pretends that he is an instructor by telling them that they don’t know what they are doing and that they should rent him as an instructor. Instead, he admits that he wants to take money from them. He is more like a cartoon character than someone suitable to be an instructor. Be aware.
Breakfast:
Breakfast is passable, but unimpressive and limited. The selection focuses heavily on Muslim-oriented options, which is fine, but the variety is poor, and the overall quality feels like the hotel is doing the bare minimum. Nothing is particularly fresh or memorable, and the experience does not come close to what a 5-star property should offer.
Overall recommendation:
As a standard person, I believe that operating a hotel requires extensive knowledge, proper education in hospitality, strong customer service skills, and well-trained, qualified staff in order to deliver a truly superb experience. Unfortunately, this property demonstrates the complete opposite. The lack of basic service standards, the evident language barriers, and the overall absence of professionalism make it very difficult to understand how this hotel is presented at its current rating.
When a hotel consistently fails in service quality, communication, and staff competence, it is not a matter of minor shortcomings but a structural problem. In my opinion, it would be far more honest and appropriate to classify this hotel as a 3-star property, which would better reflect the level of service actually provided and set more realistic expectations for guests.
